    Hi
I'm looking for an application, installed on a PC, MAC or Linux, that lets me to schedule TV recordings, arrange TV channels etc, etc and with a hit of a button updates the MP TV Server. Has anyone heard of such a application?

    Thanks,

would be nice if it had a guide, maybe up to 2 weeks of tv listings, that I could set up to either record only one show or a whole season, or I could search for tv shows based on genre or alphabetical listing, or get a list of the lineup for a single channel.

Well WebMediaportal maybe? It's not a separate application, but it fulfils your needs. Install it on your tv server, forward some ports and access it from your favourite browser.

Edit: now when I read your post again... Well it doesn't eg. you can't arrenge channels and maybe the etc,etc part is a no go too.

... you can arrange TV channels in whatever order you want, and set up groups of channels, if you don't want them all to be visible at once, from within the MP TV-Server config. You can set up a recording schedule in the TV Client plugin, which works from within the MediaPortal GUI.

Of course, MediaPortal only installs on the PC. Look into XBMC if you want to get TV on a Linux front-end and use the MP TV Server plugin with TV-Server on a PC as a back-end. I don't know anything about how it works in that arrangement, you would have to inquire in the XBMC forums.

Hi, it looks like the Client's server connection settings got corrupted somehow and were reset, hopefully this is an easy fix. Open MP2-Client, navigate to Settings->General->Connectivity->Home server. In the menu on the left there may be an option Detach from home server, if there is click it and acknowledge the dialog that pops up...

Ran into this problem following an otherwise sucessful upgrade from MP 1.34 x64 to MP 1.35 x64 the CEC Remote plugin which I use just to control volume and standby, will no longer put my devices (TV & AVR) to sleep when the HTPC is put in standby. Also when I wake up the HTPC MP closes or crashes (not sure which) as per the example in...

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

When I tested MP 2.5 some months ago using TVE3.5, I found that "scan for channels" failed to find any channels when I selected a DVB-T2 tuner (a TBS 6284) :(, but succeeded when I used a DVB-T tuner (a Pinnacle 2000i) :). Obviously the Pinnacle found only those channels broadcast in DVB-T MUXes (in the UK we have both DVB-T MUXes and...
