Hi,

where can I configure the video and audio codec which is used for recording and watching tv?
I couldn`t find it.

Thanks

that isn't relevant for the server.

codecs are only required for viewing which is in the client .. NOT the server.

Hmm, but I have some glitches or artefacts in my recordings. I had no things like that with MP version 0.2.0.4. Is there any way to get rid of this artefacts?

With MP 2.x recordings are made in dvrms format which I believe is better at error correction in digital streams than .ts or .mpg.
I'm sure if this is wrong I will be corrected.

the tvserver records as it is broadcast.

so you either have interference with your signal or the original broadcast has the artefacts also.

it's not "bullshit" for me... it records and streams perfectly.

you obviously have a problem unique to you.
but as you have only made 4 posts and already decided that a beta product is "bullshit" then i don't really have the desire to try and help you any more.

Maybe I misworded it. I don`t think this whole project or the TV Server is bullshit.
I think the Server isn`t ready yet when he detects a perfect signal and builds an awful recording or tv stream.
I`ll go back to the old version and forget about streaming tv.

One cannot detect a perfect signal for analog tv cards
The WDM api only tells whether there is a signal or not
It doesnt tell the signal quality!

I too have artefacts in my recordings. I always thought it was a codec issue too, indeed I thought I even managed to resolve the issue by changing the decoder in media portal prior to the tv server. I was always under the impression that changing the decoder could improve the recording. There never seems to be any artefacts when I watch the tv through MP, only when I view the recordings.

So to just confirm, there is nothing I can do to fix the artefacts by changing the codec/decoder?

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...
