after the registry change I'm able to watch the stream under WMP with the uffe address..

But I'm unable to be able to watch inside Vista MCE..

How should I open the HTM?

I use WinXP MCE but I can´t connect to http://localhost:8000/...
On the MCE Skin i see no icons or video!

I have Reg the rtsp source filter.
I have edit the TvServerController.exe.config with the server ip address.

But nothing works.

What have i did wrong?

Hi,

When you run the installation it installs a Windows Service called MCETVServerPlugin. This service start a small webserver, that send control commands to the TvServer and host the HTML application in MCE.

Verify that the Windows Service is started. if so it should have started a port listener on port 8000. You could run a netstat command to verfify it... Maybe its blocked by windows firewall ?. You temp. disable it a see if it works.

If the service is started it could be verified on http://localhost:8000 or http://127.0.0.1:8000 if you prefer.

list - Gives full channel list
list?id=<<id>> - Channel info
change?id=<<id>> - starts timeshiftting.


The thing I meant with custom url was. The directx filter used to receive RTSP stream from the TVServer needs to be activated in some fashion. So I have setup a URL format called uffe:// that activates the filter. Check under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT -> Key uffe and you will find the registration.

I see the Service "TvServerController.exe" in the Taskmanager but not in the Service Config.
I have disable the firewall, but when i call http://localhost:8000 or http://127.0.0.1:8000 i get this info:
<result>Unable to handle request /</result>

Hi Ven,


Then its running as it should. Try and give the server a command. for instance:

http://localhost:8000/list

Then it will create a XML output with the Channels from your TVServer - if it has been setup correctly.

If it gives you a list of channels ... then you should be able to view them in MCE or XBOX360.

I have install it on an other PC the same problems.

My Setup:
1. Install die Setup.exe from the allione pack
2. Configure the IP Address
3. Regsvr32 RtspSource2.ax

Finish.

Are this steps Ok?

Hello again,

Everything should be included in the setup.exe, even the registration of the directx filter.

What happends when you call ?
http://localhost:8000/list

To verfify it was working i would do the following steps.

1) Install setup.exe
2) Change the ip address of the TvServer in the configuration file.
3) Restart the MCETvServerPlugin Service
4) http://localhost:8000/list
5) Pick a channel from the list
6) Ask the tvserver to timeshift: http://localhost:8000/change?id=<<ChannelID>>
7) Start WMP and open URL. ... replace rtsp:// with uffe://
8) If everything is working you should be able to see video.
9) Go to MCE and open appplication. If you have a very large number of channels it will take some time.

a) If you still have problems my install script isent good enogh and I will have to change it.

I forgot to ask what kind of Database do you use for your TvServer ? MySQL or Microsoft ?.

I use the Microsoft SQL Server 2005

Now I have install MySQL too.
But if I configure the MP Server with MySQL my normaly MP Client does not work with it.

Now I have configure the TV Server for use with Microsoft SQL Server 2005
( in this config. my normaly Mediaportal Client works fine)

And now i get this messages:

If I call http://localhost:8000/list
i get this message:

If i call :

I get this:

With WMP i can see the Video (uffe://<<My Server IP>>/stream2.0.

But under MCE i see only a blue MediaCenter Screen

No icons no video
