I know this is dumb but do many of you use a Antivirus program on your HTPC? I don't download anything to it besides the XML guide. I was using AVGfree and it was slowing down my box a little. Just asking.

Like any normal box really. The active scanning it uses would be too bad because of the file incrementation speed of recordings and there wouldnt be a lot of file access as its only using the one program. Ive just got Symantec corp server on mine running the other symantec corp clients in the house and it works nicely.

yeah, i wouldn't think anything of it if you only download xml files to it.. to just schedule a scan every week.. or you could even scan every night.. or while you are at work.. sometime when you know you won't be using it and not worry about constant virus scanning.

this coming from someone who didn't have any antivirus for years... so i'm a little more comfortable knowing what I download.

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1

Update: Problem solved! The electronic program guides (tvguide.xml) have been successfully transferred to MediaPortal. The issue stemmed from the corruption of one or both of the mc2xml.dat and/or mc2xml.exe files, for an unknown reason. Consequently, even though the tvguide.xml file appeared to be updated, its content kept being an...

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC. TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.
