i thin yes,
the initial issue was for detect USB HDD drive, when is connected : https://issues.team-mediaportal.com/browse/MP1-2469
but with this fix, the usb flash drive, are always showed.
@catavolt search to have this fix too. hey Cata you remember an jira entry for this ?

afaik there is no jira for that
But it´s annoying that you can freely browse the parent folder(s) which are not explicitly foreseen for videos, pictures, music etc.
This makes the door wide open for content that should eventually not be seen by anyone else

Can someone summarize what is the issue with usb drives?

hum, if i can help ( i think catavolt can explain better than me )
on the actual MP release. all USB drive are listed inside each plugins MyVidéo/Music/Pictures as external drive.
But few user, use Flash drive as " local hard drive", so inside MP config, it add drive letter to shared folder, and manage it as local storage.
so few user want only add acces to few folder inside the flash, and not the root folder.

i'm not sure my explain is clear.

so, the best attempt is to have :
IF letter drive is set inside MP Config. not consider as USB Flash drive. and skip it on auto-mount process.
But how to detect if the USB Flash is replaced ?

It seems I have found a solution to hide the root folder (drive letter) of the usbHDD and flash drive if there is a share on that drive.

For example:

• usbHDD(or flash drive) E:\testvideos, is named "test videos". The E: is hided but the label test videos is shown.
• usbHDD(or flash drive) E: is NOT shared in my video. The E: is shown and browsable the all drive as now in MP 1.10.

Is it ok?

If shared in MyVidéo but not inside MyPics. E: don't be showed inside all other plugins.
