I think your motherboard has to support wake from USB devices and your PSU also has to supply 5V to USB on standby, i will try to find a little more info for you. I have the mplay VFD and mplay blast, i can turn my PC on and off through the internal USB headers, i have moved some jumpers around on my mother board to wake from S3 i think.
