Then under MP,Config(advanced mode) look under remote, be sure the Win media center remote is not enabel.

then all will work out the box
    My remote all keys work

Now the thing i found was my remote worked fine until standby using IRSS, as even my usb mouse disconnected, I take it windows7 does have some usb issues not seen in Vista itself.

ps. there was one button that worked on remote, the standby power button

Qustion for the dude in here that did run Win7, no problems
What audio codex did you use, in have an audio issue, studdering sound, under HDMI/SPDIF passthrough, Avi and Mkv 5.1 and DTS stutters.
Out site MP it all sounds okay, and i get real AC3 and DTS signal..

    Any advice?

What you have described fits my experience exactly but with Vista when I tried to use FFDshow in any way.

Switching over to the AC3 filter 1.51a made it then perfect. It was strange as running outside of MP it would be perfect with FFDshow but not when using MP. Even using ffdshow to pass through the SPDif signal through to my amp made no difference it still crackled and stuttered terribly.

Install SAF 3.41... + the power dvd file in root..
Config sound card to Spdif.. Under MP/Config(advanced mode), Direct Shop Filter Control.

REBOOT.. YES REBOOT to be sure..
    :)

    tools you need..

    SAF 3.41

He is the man, real helpfull, and makes many updates, so you will have newst codex all the time. remeber to thank him :)

How can i know what filters are in use in MP?
Use Graphstudio - RadScorpion’s blog MONOGRAM GraphStudio
    Start MP in window mode.
Start GraphStudio and File->Connect to remote graph and click connect (should be working on Vista too)

Hope this helps you, you welcome to ask more, ill try to help you my best :)

My setup: ASUS crap motherboard. Onbord vid + sound.
HDMI to AMP, AMP to TV(hdmi)
i get true, full, DTS and 5.1 signal... hdmi-s/pdif
    ;)

Then under MP,Config(advanced mode) look under remote, be sure the Win media center remote is not enabel.

standby/Sleep, of man dong get me startet, i have a ASUS P5Q-EM motherborad.

I cant say what happens, cos, if i hit standby, hirbernate or sleep, the hole thing will crash.
Crash windows, vista or Win 7 dos not matter.
The the bios will also crash.. and i have to take power for some minutes to get it back online..

Well i can see many benefits in windows for multimedia use. First after Windows 7 installation i had only to install a H264 Codec and the Haali Media Splitter all other codecs are allready integrated into windows 7. Windows 7 has a DVXA enabled H264 Codec but that isn´t selectable in MediaPortal! then it is the first OS on that i got DXVA working out of the box even with the ms drivers! Then one function i realy love: you can disable the autoplay funktion via control panel. That´s just nice. Well at moment i have that tuner problem but that started after changing my ram configuration so im going to switch that back. I allready recordet 9 channels at the same time on two cards an watched one of that channels, too. It was even no problem to watch a second channel with a connected client. Ok i had some trouble with the mce remote but got it fixed with the mce replacment driver and the replacement plugin. It also worked with the ir server suite but then i couldn´t use a general HID Device at the same time!

I'm glad that you have sorted out your issues :)

For me I do enjoy using the codecs that I have installed and the AC3 filer 1.51a as the configuration that is possoible with that filter allows me to add delay (around 300ms) to ensure that lip sync is great. It also allows me to select whether or not I want pass through for both DTS or DD, and if I want to add gain to the signal, to amplify it. There are, of course other options you can select.

I had noted the SAF 3.41 and indeed have followed that thread, I have just read your latest posts there. I have noted that for the AC3 filter it is posted that you should select MPC-MPA audio decoder, is that just as configurable as the stand alone AC3 filer is..?

In MP you can select MPC-MPA audio decoder or if you have AC3filter installe you can select that.. its up to you..

But i say no need for AC3Filter... if you use s/pdif or hdmi, and passtrough..
then just setup MPC-MPA audio decoder, to s/pdif ;)

    BrownGhost - yup I meant you :D

I did try the pass through for AC3 Filter and at the moment I'm seeing how things go as I noticed an mkv file with DTS audio needed 300ms to be added to it to sync the audio with the video, so I couldn't pass through the DTS at that time as I needed to introduce the delay, if that makes sense.!

I will see if there is a constant need to introduce audio delay to all DD /DTS material, if there is then it is easy to achieve that with the AC3 filter, or if it can vary depending on the source material, and other factors.

Strange you have to do the 300ms delay.. im sad for you.
Make sure you have Updatet Audio drivers, video drivers, and get newst intel Inf installer.
    maybe even a bios update..

it might solve your 300 delay problem.

i have never evner no delays, things look good and in synch.. lucky me :)
