For me personally the stuttering is ALSO occurring outside of MP and this is why i tend to believe that it is a codec/splitter issue.
You should download MPC-HC and set ur tv on 50Hz then disable all the internal Source Filters there and play the file while having Ctrl+J active (this is the stats for MPC-HC) and check the stats for stuttering. By that time you will realize that there is stuttering.
After that go again in the Options of MPC-HC and this time enable the internal AVI Source Filter and play the file again while checking the stats. This time you should not get any stuttering. At least i dont.
You can check with GraphStudio the graph if you just connect to Remote Graph while playing both scenarios.
Try it out and report again.
If you need more info do not hesitate to ask here.
P.S. In order to force windows to always use the Gabest AVI Splitter for .AVI files you need to create a new registry key.
1. Open registry editor and go to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Media Type\Extensions\
2. Create a new key and name it ".avi"
3. Inside this new .avi key create a new string value and name it "Source Filter"
4. Edit the value of the new string to "{CEA8DEFF-0AF7-4DB9-9A38-FB3C3AEFC0DE}"
This will force any DS player to use the Gabest AVI Source splitter.
