I had this idea already. But there are few things to consider: at current version it simply outputs the collected files to the working directory. So if we install it under ProgramFiles the UAC prevents to write there.

So we need to decide where we should save the archive. The ProgramData folder is not the best choice, as users could not find it easily (it's one reason why we have this tool ;)).
Maybe we create a folder on Desktop like "MediaPortal2 logs" and place the log archive there? When done, open an Explorer window for this path?

    Hi

I like this idea. A user will only use the Log collector when there is a problem, so the desktop is for me a logical choice to look for the log files.

I've added the log collector to setup! Slowly I getting used to WiX stuff :)

We now also have an icon "MediaPortal 2 Log Collector" on desktop.

@wizard123 I currently use the MP2-Client icon for this tool, but this is not best solution, as it might lead to confusion (same icon, different tools). Can you create a new icon for "Log Collector"?

Is it also possible to create a "MP2 style" version of SetupTV icon? (I currently use MP2-Server icon).

Once we have them, I will create a new installer with all recent changes :)

Possible but may be slightly different as i don't have the original source.

I will take a look asap.

I like it. Although SetupTv icon is quite covered by UAC shield.

Funny, didn't know yet that Ctrl+MouseWheel also directly changes icon size on desktop. With such big icons it looks much better.

I'm distinctly uncomfortable with what is happening here. If you must do this, please could you name the shortcut "MediaPortal 2 TV Server Configuration" or "MediaPortal 2 TV Configuration". Only the exe name is SetupTv.exe. In all the user interfaces (eg. title bar), text says "TV Server Configuration". So, I would like to avoid SetupTV in the shortcut name or icon.
