Is it possible that the performance of the d510 isn't good enough to stream continuously?
That's not only possible but a fact. For transcoding you need massive performance...

Which CPU would match? it should stream to two normal clients an one stream to android?

what about core i3 2100 with 4GB? or what about Pentium G-Series? for example Pentium g620?

On the system should work the tvserver, the mpextended an siemens wincc flexible runtime (hmi to control my electrical house system).

thanks a lot.

Core i3 2100 should work fine, at least with SD channels. I have an Core 2 Duo E7500@2,93Ghz and that can transcode SD channels just fine (have not tried any HD channel).

As far as I know streaming to clients shouldn't tax the server CPU much as the decoding is done on the client but streaming tpo android the server compresses the file on the fly to then be able to play on android. I have an old P4 3.2 Ghz and the best i can get is LQ without choppyness but then the CPU is 100%. I have another box which is an old dual core 1.8Ghz and i can stream it at "better" quality no issues but can't do the "HQ" quality. Basically the faster the CPU the better when you want to stream to android devices.

Cheers

Thanks for reply. I think, that i should buy the core i3. just to have more reserves for the future.

Just build my server 2 years ago and I don't want to rebuild it in 2014, if I make the upgrade now.

If you want to future proof your server then maybe you should look at an i5 or even i7 as mediaportal 2 is coming out and will support full HD with PiP :)

check out sample here :) ->

Has s.o. thought of programming aMPdroid with Marmalade SDK?! The new version supports Native UI, so we could use aMPdroid on Android, iOS, Bada and Amazon Fire devices. Wouldn't that be awesome?!

It's just a question of money. got a budget of around 250€ from my wife and the constilation of my system, i thougt about, is:
Intel core i3 2120 boxed
4GB DDR3
ASRock H67M B3
32GB Patriot Torqx 2
Data-Drives 2*2TB Samsung (from old server)
Record & Timeshift 500GB WD 7200rpm (from old server)
Digital devices dual SAT HD Receiver (from old server)

changing my systemdrive is because my old systemdrive is an 80GB SATA Notebook hdd and it is not the fastest.
My Server is allways in standby and wakes up by WOL if a client starts or I need the HMI (wake up per USB from Touchscreen).

upgrading cpu in the future is then even easier cause i don't need a new motherboard (i hope so)

thanks a lot for your help.:D

One question regarding the config of mpextended and wifiremote:
Do I need to need to set up user and pw in both and which qr code is the correct to scan?
