    Yep, I'm using mc2xml.

If you're using the TvServer, then do the following:
    • Start the TvServer setup.
    • Go to plugins and enable the XMLTV plugin.
    • Expand the plugins section and click on XMLTV.
    • Change the tvguide.xml folder to where your mc2xml guide file is or alternatively copy the file to the MediaPortal location.
    • You'll need to rename the file generated by mc2xml from xmltv.xml to tvguide.xml as this is what MediaPortal is expecting.
    • Now switch to the mappings tab and click the 'Load/refresh' button. This will load the channels from your xmltv file and attempt to match them up to the channels you have setup in MediaPortal.
    • If there are any channels that don't match, you can manually match them up.
    • Once finished, click 'Save' and then switch back to the 'Settings' tab.
    • I found I had to uncheck the 'Apply timezone compensation....' option for the import to work correctly.
    • Click the 'Import' button.
    • This is where you need to be patient as the import can take some time depending on the number of channels and programs and there's no visible feedback.
and that's about it, your guide should now be populated!

After I got that all working I then made a batch file which would call mc2xml to generate the file and rename it to tvguide.xml and also created a windows scheduled task to run this batch file nightly.
When the new tvguide.xml was generated, MediaPortal would automatically pick this up and re-import everything.

    HTH,
    Bagal.

I'v selected delet old programm info in plugin - will it delete only the channels who are mapped?

In log is written" 2008-11-02 12:46:04.963913 [XmlTvImporter]db: XMLTVImport: Inserting 487 programs for kabel eins"
but program info is still empty.

I can't say for certain but I would assume that it would only delete those programmes for the channels it is importing, so you should be ok.

If you've already got the xmltv file then you just need to point MediaPortal to it and it will import everything, the only thing you need to change is the filename as MediaPortal expects it to be called TvGuide.xml.

As I said in a previous post in this thread you need to load up the TvServer configuration, enable the xmltv plugin, set the location to your xmltv file, map channels in the xmltv file to the channels configured in the TvServer and then import, my previous post goes into a bit more detail about this.

I did everything you said, but found another post with something about tvguide.tdt or similar... You need to copy it from it from the installation files into the same folder with the xml file... Still trying to get it to work though.. Just keep getting "No data available"... Now I can't even tune my channels "Unable to start timeshifting No free card available"... Thinkin maybe I shouldn't have switched from GB-PVR...

EDIT: xmltv.dtd is what I meant...

Did you click the import button in the tvserver config to force an import? and if so, did it say that it had successfully imported? (the bit below the import button on the config tells you how many channels/programmes have been imported when it's finished)

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
