Problem with remote

I am very happy with MP so far, as it works just fine and is quite stable. Thanks for that.

I have some problems with anysee's remote, it just isn't detected.

So I hope you could assist me with the problem.

Firstly. How should the remote be referred in setup? Is it mce, general hid or none of those? And what should the configurations be in remote setup?

Secondly. What did you do to make the remote to work, what's the setup and version and svn?

Uhm, well I am not quite sure what do you mean with encrypted channels
I am just watching the so called free-to-all television channels

Oh and I stumbled into a MINOR problem just when I said MP is working fine:
In Finland we have like, umm at least:
TV1, TV2, MTV3, Nelonen (4), SubTV, YLETeema, YLE24, FST ... and guess what.

Over on the half of the channels I cannot see the subtitles at all.

It's quite frustrating to watch something like news when they speak arab or something like that and guess what they are saying

If there is something doable about extracting the correct subtitle language (apart from those channels where the subtitles are burned in the transport could you pretty please inform it for us? Is there anywhere plugin etc to do it manually?

Now I have to switch back to anysee's own tv program since it can show the subtitles and it works correctly afaik atleast concerning the remote and the chooseable subtitles...apart from freezing and so on But atleast then most of the channels are somehow viewable as they now aren't with MP.

Oh and btw, for those that live in some other country, this is MAJOR thing about MP, because Finnish analog broadcasting is going to be ceased in like 4 months.

Maybe I have to admit that I was wrong when I said to my friends that I can make as good HTPC as there is those DigiBoxes in stores... But I hate it when I have to admit that I'm wrong so could someone help me with my problem(s, the remote still not working!).

So few questions: Is there going to be somewhere in the future support for dvb-subtitles? If those are supported already and I just am retarded or something could you post the solution for the problem in here?

Anyhow, thanks for great development of the program so far and I hope that it will satisfy all my needs of DVD-player, jukebox, tvbox and videostorage. Although it's all of those allready except the tvbox

In Sweden we are so hungry for new tech that people are willing to pay for digital channels, even when they have them for free (cable, ComHem).

With DVB-T is only 1,2 and 4 FTA, all other you have to pay for. That's why I ask why the crypted channels work with this card?

I have not decided what to do yet, I have cable and they don't provide 3 and 5 digitally at all!

Finnish subtitles...

I wish somebody could resolve the DVB-T subtitle issue... It´s a technical problem cos for excamble Yle is sending the subtitles in a seperate data/signal and that´s why some software developers had get it working and some haven´t.
I´m quite happy with MP anyway, just those little things bothers.
I tested some other MC softwares and realized that Meedio did know how to work with Finnish DVB-T subtitles...
It´s too bad that the company was sold...?

Anysee and subtitles.

Well if you are trying to find program which can show the subtitles on YLE channels in Finland then just go and buy anysee and use its own program.

It really works, or atleast shows all the subtitles as far as I can tell. All the programs on TV which I have watched or recorded do have the subtitles and you can even choose the language and things like that.

Anysee's own tv-program even MAY resolve the different language audio's, but I haven't seen to that because default is finnish and I won't even try to change that....even to try it

Then again I have this minor thing with MP, the remote still wont work. Without anysee's own program installed or with it.

If someone can tell how to make the remote work with MP I would be very grateful, thanks.

subtitle issue...

I was trying to explain at the earlyer message that how the subtitles work in Finland (and probalbly everywhere else?) and that somebody should fix that problem in MP, cos it is MP´s problem not the DVB-T cards. I know exactly witch DVB-T cards can show them at Finland, with their own software.

Is the Anysee E30 plus going to be working in MP?? The card is to be supported in MCE. (in future update, says in finnish Anysee page)

Im also building HTPC, and the time of analog broadcasts getting to a end in 2007 in Finland.. So need of a good DVB-T / DVB-C tv-card is needed.

The Anysee cards is a atracting choice from the price opinion, 159-180€. Compared to the Digital Everywhere FireDTV C/CI 219€ + Conax card reader 79€.

Terve guys!

This YLE and Canal+ subtitle thing is a real mess, I am so close to finishing my Media Portal PC and just a few silly little things are keeping the crappy Canal+ DVB-S digibox strapped to the TV.

1 - The subtitles - Beaten to death this one, hopefully one day it will work with some plugin or something. At least I can rest knowing that I am not alone.

2 - https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=14129 - A killer for me because my 5yr old is learning great English from Playhouse Disney and I seem to be stuck in Swedish. I am not sure if this is because of my Technotrend drivers or with MP. Could one of you Finnish guys with Canal+ (satellite) test to see if you can get the Finnish/English stream? Frodo has promised to look into this for me.

3 - Finally getting a reliable wakeup and standby by setup going, I am pretty close to this but no cigar yet.

I really like mediaportal, it's got great teletext support and a great interface, just these silly little non issues that are keeping it away from 24/7 usage.
