The ATSC tuner works great, and the analog tuner works great. I only have problems if I run them at the same time (it appears that only the first one gets data). If the Analog tuner is in use, then the ATSC tuner complains about no PMT. If the ATSC tuner is in use, then the analog tuner complains about lack of audio/video. There are a lot more things I can try out, but I have the same problem when using the TV Server recorder, For The Record, or just the manual timeshifting in the TV Server configuration.

My AverMedia card has two drivers (and 2 devices in the hardware manager), but my ATI only has one ATI AVStream device. I wonder if the driver interface is different?

I just saw this review on Newegg: "It works! Contrary to several reviews, it IS possible to record using BOTH the analog and digital tuners CONCURRENTLY. The key is apparently using the dedicated 9.3 version Theater 650 drivers, which may or may not be correctly offered by ATI's website depending on the OS selected. Perhaps it was a fluke, but for me on XPsp3, the full 9.3 Catalyst package didn't do the trick, I had to find & separately install the "9-3_xp32-64_t550-600-650_wdm.exe" drivers here:
    hxxp://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/9-3/Pages/tvtuner_mce-xp.aspx
(Note, this is for XP & currently can't be located using the default ATI driver search tools. 9.3 for Vista & W7 are easily locatable.)"

Maybe that'll help with your issue.

I can't explain it, but after I installed the older drivers (9.3), both tuners seem to be working great. ATI just release new drivers a couple of days ago (10.4), but if it's working now I don't think I'm going to upgrade.

    Thanks for the help!

I have OTHER news to report on the ATi 650 Combo USB tuner...

I am able to capture analog the S-Video input (view and/or record to HDD) while simultaneously viewing/streaming the ATSC tuner (to HDD as well). YES, dual streams and I'm not using the 9.3 driver (described above)! Instead I loaded CCC 10.4 onto my AMD-based, Win-7 Premium 32-bit OS system. Also, those of us reading this thread know that AMD/ATi has no Win 7 drivers on their site... in fact, on page 3 of the CCC 10.4 release notes they state:

Note: The ATI Catalyst™ driver includes TV/Capture driver support
for many ATI Theater 600 and ATI Theater 650 products under
Windows 7 (in addition to ATI Theater HD 750). Windows 7
TV/Capture functionality is currently NOT supported by ATI
Catalyst™ for the following products only: ATI All-in-Wonder HD,
ATI TV Wonder 650 Combo USB, and ATI TV Wonder 600 USB.

I'm not sure why my S-Video analog capture is working but it is. Also let me say I was having issue with MP 1.1.0.0 RC1 freezing up and put getting analog capture to work on the back burner... now with MP 1.1.0.0 RC2 the analog capture is again (used to work under XP and MP 1.0.2) working!

I have this card (Diamond), it detects both Analog and ATSC. The analog portion is working, but when I search for ATSC, it finds nothing. It also is working in Windows Media Center. I've tired many versions of the software and still doesn't work. The forums seem to have many threads with this issues. Maybe we can finally figure this out? I am using Windows 7 x64 and the PCI-E version.

Well, there is nothing wrong in the log. I have personaly tested the bitstreaming after DVD resume, and I can confirm that the LAV audiodecoder shows status 'bistreaming' on the output. What is your LAV status?

You need to setup the TV tuner in "TV Server Configuration". There should be a shortcut on the Windows desktop. The primary action is to "scan for channels", but obviously there are other things to setup too (such as the folder to use for recordings). MediaPortal should be able to use your tuner provided that the tuner has a BDA...
