Bit of a newbe Q but how do have a different background for each selection on the basichome screen. Movies, videos, dvd all have same background but there is no option for dvd or videos in the skin config.

you can't do this within the skin generator. if you have unused categories you can use those, like use games for dvd etc...
if you want even more categories than is provided you have to edit the raw .xml file in notepad and change the imagepatch tags to an additional folder.

Cant remember, I think so. I made some improvements in .9 so it remembers any non-default paths you enter.

just checked, version 8 doesn't recognise additional sub directories in media/animation
    must be a new feature

however if the user is using version 8
there are 10 default folders to choose from so you have 10 different sets of images to use
ie emulator can be used for DVD
and settings can be used for VIDEO etc...

So you have tried manually entering the folder name and it doesnt work?

It will only display the list of folders in the dropdown list that get installed with the skin, you need to manually enter any other folder either as a full path e.g. 'c:\myfanart' or a single folder which exists in animations e.g. 'blah'

I havent tried extra sub-folders myself but have tried setting a full path in 0.9

ahh you can edit the path!! (v8), wow didn't notice.
it would be good if skin editor detected all sub folders in media/animation also

Can easily be done but need to put a filter on it so it doesn't include the standard mediaportal ones used for other purposes e.g. Music 'AnVU', 'LedVU', 'Play'. Dont want to confuse users thinking that is a valid folder.

    that is true,

can we expect my music fan art integration into streamedMP at some stage?
currently there is a mod that adds currently playing artist fan art to musicsongs.xml
i tried to edit it, to show currently selected artist fanart in artist view
but wasn't able to work out which tag represents currently selected artist
tried #selected.artist but that didn't work

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...

I note that you are using MP2. The following applies to MP1, but I think that MP2 is identical in this situation. "TV Server Config" has a "TV Mapping" panel in the "TV Channels" section. On the "TV Mapping" tab: The left column lists the channels that have not yet been mapped to the TV tuner identified by the drop-down menu just...

I do not know why this xml was in my theme folders, it must have sneaked in some time ago (years?). I simply removed the file. The Latest Media Handler plugin seems to be working as expected. I've had no lock-ups.
