Good Idea! Ok, now inside tvserver I can see all the tuners. However, when I scan for DVB-S channels I see "no signal" message for every transponder....

Does the scan work fine with the blackgold application, i know nothing about dvb-s tuning, so hopefully someone will point you to a setting that you may need to change to get this to work.

Hi, the blackgold application doesn't work at all.... it doesn't start.... Now, I've formatted and at first the scan found 17 channels but I've got a "windows error" message. Then, I've restarted the scan but again "no signal"......

Is there any M$ updates or extra software that may be needed to correctly run the blackgold software, is your dish correctly aligned, does it work with a settop box, wiring connections ok.

These are the things i would look at first.

Some good news here. Now I've got TVServer working. It find all satellite channels. So I start mediaportal, go to MyTv and nothing! No channels.... It say: no tuner found..... So: tvserver is working, MP not  Help!

    Hi thebdct

Just to double check that you ran the SetupPlugin.msi (from the tvengine3 zip) on your MediaPortal PC to install the TV Server client plugin. Otherwise MediaPortal will try to use the built in TV Engine rather than TV Server.

This may not be the problem but I thought I would make the suggestion.

If these cards work with TV Server they look great and if I were building an HTPC now I would certainly look to use them. For what it is, the price doesn't seem too excessive as you would probably only need one in a standalone HTPC.

If you were building a media server, an ATX motherboard with 3 PCI-E slots could give you 12 digital tuners available (assuming that multiple cards get on together OK in one PC).

 yes, it was that.... :sorry: Anyway, I've done a lot of test and the canclusion is that if I use an old version of the tvserver (for example a version of october 2007) it can find satellite channels. If I use a recent version, I get "no signal"...

Nothing, now it doesn't work... no signal found. TVServer is not the solution. So far now I have a completely unusable 6in1 card.

    Know the feeling theBDC!

Did you try the MS Media Center hack to get DVB-S running? It didn't work for me as I am 64 bit (despite Black Gold's claim to have 64 bit support when I bought it  ).

If you are on 32 bit, you should have no problem, though you are limited to 2 tuners of the same type.

Failing that, I got DVB Viewer to recognise all tuners, but the interface od do ugly, I couldn't bear to use it.

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...
