Another good site for OTA TV information is www.tvfool.com I use this for the USA but it also supports Canada, if you scroll down you can enter a general location province/state city, in the USA I use zipcode. you can also enter the address to get data for your location. General Toronto info is the following link. If you click on "Online TV Maps" on left side you can see a map view. You need to play with the map view a bit to see how it works. If you are in a hilly area your location can make a big difference.

Find attached the 2 files that I use for Buffalo OTA (I grab 8 days of listings every day). The channel listing file is also attached.
    Thanks a lot my friend!

I'll let you know how did it go when I use them.
Last night I upgraded to v1.3 and now I'm getting an error message (some XML file missing) when I click on Online Videos.[DOUBLEPOST=1363707254][/DOUBLEPOST]
@corporate_gadfly one more thing: Are you using a different antenna for the CTV? My antenna is directed at south and I don't receive CTV at all.
@Canuck re: CTV, I think the issue is that CTV is on VHF channel 9. My antenna is an Antennas Direct DB8 (optimized for UHF, I think). Even then, I get CTV most of the time. I have the antenna mounted on the chimney on a single storey bungalow (Bloor/East Mall area).

Perhaps your antenna is optimized for UHF as well and not for VHF?

Also UHF pre-amps (if you have one) will block VHF signals. Some people suggest getting a rabbit ear antenna and reversing a two-way splitter (or a UHF VHF Splitter Joiner) to combine the two signals. Try it with a rabbit ear by itself first.

Found a great site for GTA OTA HDTV after googling a bit.

Oh, I wasn't aware of this VHF/UHF thing!
I'll try a VHF one and see what happens!
    Thanks![DOUBLEPOST=1363707459][/DOUBLEPOST]
do you get good results when you enable mdb post processor? I tried the mdb once, it runs for a long time and does something, but I'm not sure if it really adds anything.

how do you set this to run periodically? run webgrab+plus.exe from windows scheduled task directly? run a scheduled batch script?
Nope, mdb is skipped. I use a Windows Schedule Task (find attached) and run a Cmd file (find attached). In particular, I have it setup to "Wake the computer to run the task". Trigger is 8am daily. I grab 8 days at a time.

I'm using a single seat setup, so I guess this means I should never turn down the PC, which is fine.
But if I am understanding it correctly, updating WebGrab+ listings is something that we have to arrange for outside of MP/WG++ as scheduled tasks? Right?

You need to setup a windows scheduled task to run a new WebGrab once a day or so. I have windows wakeup the TV Server from sleep and run a script to grab the data overnight when the system is idle. If you are using MePo PowerScheduler to control TV Server sleep/wakeup you can also run the script from MePo. I'm still playing with getting this setup for my system.

First of all IMO Windows Search is rotten. Secondly, the only channels.xml I could find must be a default or something under the WebEPG folder because it doesn't correspond at all with any of my channels. No other channels.xml seems to exist in any of those two directories. I'm going to try to export them and see if that works.

@corporate_gadfly, thanks again for the files. They really saved me a lot of time. I was almost giving up.
I managed to put together the logo files of the stations in this list (attached). May be @kiwijunglist can add them to the Canadian country specific info. They need to be copied to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\tv\logos

I am receiving CTV but since it is not digital UHF (my guess) the EPG data is blank.

Thanks for the logos (haven't looked at them as I have my own set for Argus TV). Re: CTV, can you look in your config file for this channel?
    XML:
    	<channel update="i" site="tvguide.com.Buffalo-OTA" site_id="12970" xmltv_id="CTVHT 9.1">CTVHT 9.1</channel>
I see the following from last night's log:
    Code:
Channel CTVHT 9.1 site -- TVGUIDE.COM.BUFFALO-OTA -- update mode incremental

Summary for update of CTVHT 9.1
    	missing shows added 0
    	changed shows updated	0
    	new shows added 27
    	unchanged shows inspected 202
    	total after update 231
