You probably looking for code examples or a MediaPortal function but all I can tell you is the following:

When using 4TR, you have a tvplugin.dll file that is around 4kb while the original tvpligin.dll is around 364kb.
The 4TR dll also have some properties/attributes that identifies it as such:
    Company: For The Record
Copyright: copyright For The Record 2009

Not sure if you can programatically test for size < 10kb or the Company maybe?

    Hi,

I think I found a solution. The mediaportal.xml has the information I need.

    cheers

The only issue I can see with using MediaPortal.xml is if the user installs ForTheRecord to try it, then decides they don't like it and uninstalls the plugin, will the settings you're looking for remain in the MediaPortal.xml file?
