Yes it should solve this problem, see patch description for exact problems it solves.
Regarding svn, it's up to MP developers and it usually take time, unless more people say they want it
with this patch i'have solved the problem, great!!!!
but now, there is another problem
i try to play a video with an *.ass sub and mp doesn't show me the sub, but i have the same problem with an *.srt sub
the video is encoded with wm9 codec
this is the log after i play the video
cpp2005 today I have replaced the original core.dll with yours... but sadly I recognized that I have 0.22 and not 0.23 RC1 installed
Luckily I was conservative and saved the old dll so I can start MP again
Now the question in the 0.23 is solved the annoyng bug that when I open
MP Setup Vobsub becomes duplicated in codec section and so the subs don't works?
It's the first time that I upgrade MP... I've read that I have to unistall old MP but...
so I don't lost all my configuration?
i've solved all my problems.
i had to format my htpc, i have installed windows xp,mediaportal 0.2.3 with the new core.dll, ffdshow (latest versione from freecodecs), vobsub filter, haali media splitter with the compatibily for avi.
after that i have to set vobsub to always load the sub, i have to double-click it in post-processing but i have to deselect, because if i had it selected, subs didn't work
after that, i have configured haali media splitter to load vs filter, and the ffdshow video filter to load the subs, because i had a problem with srt subs and xvid videos....now all works!!!!
The only configuration that is certain to work is when the MP client and MP server are from the same release.
It is sometimes possible to use MP clients from a release that is different to the MP server, but whether it works depends on the specific changes that were made between the two releases.

I do not know why this xml was in my theme folders, it must have sneaked in some time ago (years?). I simply removed the file. The Latest Media Handler plugin seems to be working as expected. I've had no lock-ups.

I'm downsizing my big honkin' HTPC case to a mini PC, which means the tried and true Hauppauge Colossus card that bridges the set top box into Mediaportal needs replaced with a different solution.
I currently have HDMI from the STB to the colossus. Mediaportal is controlling the STB through a USBUIRT blaster and the blaster is...

Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas what the problem might be. :(
Perhaps someone else will post with some suggestions.
