I scheduled this to be fixed with the 0.8.1 release, although we will try to get it in for 0.8 if possible. If you (or anyone else) has anything further to add please post comments here.

MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
