    DVB subtitles doesn't work in mediaportal 1.3.0 RC on windows xp. Attached logs are produced in 1.3.0 RC. Does this bug have anything to do with the change from dvbsub2.ax to dvbsub3.ax?

    Shouldn't be any subtitle filter related change that causes it - exception happens on the rendering stage:

    2013-03-08 12:51:24.671875 [Debug][(16)]: SubtitleRenderer: SetSubtitle : Subtitle 0 meta data: Timeout=6 timestamp=1151,357

    ved Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.VertexBuffer..ctor(Type typeVertexType, Int32 numVerts, Device device, Usage usage, VertexFormats vertexFormat, Pool pool)
    ved MediaPortal.Player.Subtitles.SubtitleRenderer.CreateVertexBuffer(Int32 wx, Int32 wy, Int32 wwidth, Int32 wheight)
    ved MediaPortal.Player.Subtitles.SubtitleRenderer.Render()

    Hard to say what could it be - and I dont have Windows XP to test with so I cannot debug the issue.

    O Frabjous Joy! That seems to have done the trick. Thank you so much for your help and advice, CyberSimian. I hadn't thought of deleting the various folders, but I'll bear that in mind for any future disasters. Now I can record King & Conqueror on Sunday! Cheers Ralph

    Sorry, I didn't get email notifications on these latest replies. I just came here to report I solved the problem after adjusting power settings for "Intel Graphics". I set it to Maximum Performance. I tried many other things so it could be a combination of them, but this was the last thing I did and I haven't had the problem return...

    As Alexander Pope said: A little learning is a dangerous thing, and Dr Google explains this as: The quotation warns that superficial knowledge of a subject can make people arrogant or foolish, suggesting one should either learn deeply or not at all.
