I often move watched series to DVD, but every time I must manually delete database entries. Can you implement automatic episode location update with new scan results, so that only one entry will remain?
I'm not sitting at a box with mediaportal at the moment, and I don't use the latest version of the plugin, but it seems that this is already possible. There should be a setting on the import configuration called 'keep reference for files that are no longer available' make sure that this is unchecked. Unchecking this option should make it delete entries in the database after you delete them off your hard drive. Then on your import path settings for your dvd drive check the 'removable' checkbox. That should make it so that links to your files on dvd remain active even when the appropriate dvd isn't in.
Not exactly the solution you describe, but I think it should work.
