have come across this a number of time on dvb-s version, but don't know the real reason. many times unplugging firewire for a couple of minutes would fix it, other times I had to shutdown, unplug the power cord from the PSU, push the power button on to flush the capacitors, then plug in the cable back and boot the system.

yeah, seems stupid, but for me it worked.

yup, works for me to... i think there must be something with the mainboard... My onboard network adapter screws up sometimes too...

I´ve flashed the BIOS to the latest version, tomorrow i´ll install some newer drivers, but these shouldn't affect the PCI-bus...

Have you tried to reformat your harddrive and do a new fresh install?

i've been trying all firmwares+drivers from digital-everywhere they released since one year ago, both beta and stable, the problem still randomly occurs, but won't occur enough to send the card back for warranty as it can work for weeks/months without a single hiccup. Fresh installs? one every couple of weeks ;)

Also check the firewire card. Is it using a NEC chip? Some reports suggest that NEC based firewire cards causes issues with Floppy DTV. I changed my to a VIA based firewire card and has not had to reconnect the firewire cable since.

Actually I solved this myself. I did have the correct driver (it was the only one which would work). But on the drivers download page, there was an additional item called "TBS6281se V2 Change Mode Tool". There was zero documentation to accompany this. I downloaded it and ran it. It is a tool to detect the current run state of both...

As Alexander Pope said: A little learning is a dangerous thing, and Dr Google explains this as: The quotation warns that superficial knowledge of a subject can make people arrogant or foolish, suggesting one should either learn deeply or not at all. "Superficial", and "arrogant or foolish" would be me  . However... I would...

maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck? Preferable with as much disabled as possible also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything) maybe other programs competing for resouces?
