Hi,

I still get many freezes by switching channels by using 1.2.0 RC. In the meantime I switched back to the
SVN Version 1.1.7.28122 which I tried 4 weeks ago and up until now I didn't have any freeze with that version. I haven't had time yet to investigate further which change in SVN causes the problem but it must be any of the latest changes.

This is really important to us. MP 1.2.0 final is planned to be released within the next week and if we can't find the problem before release then you will also have problems with that version.

I've attached two logs about the problem. Did you see anything in the logs which helps to solve the problem?

I don't see any problems on the TV Server side, which is the code that I know the most about.

I tested channel switching extensively with different SVN versions this evening.
I found out that the changes made in revision 28130 causes the freezes:
"3667: tvservice cpu usage increases when client playbacks TV/rec. fullscreen. alternative fix" from gibman_dk.

Revision 28129 works flawlessly.
I hope that this information can help you to solve the problem.

I couldn't repro the problem

No doubt there is a problem.

I've just done a quick test by using the debug mode of MP 1.2.0 RC, so that all plugins are disabled.
And up until now I have no freezes.
I will investigate further this evening when I have more time.

Hi,
in the morning I wanted to try it once more, so I switched channels for severals minutes in epg mode.
It didn't take long until the error occured again.

I have attached the tv.log to this message.

It happens at 6:20 as I switched to channel "rtl crime".
Again no video or audio from the channel, but I still hear the clicks from the remote for a few seconds,
then the system is completely stuck, even iMon VFD stops working.
Needed to use the reset switch to restart the machine.

Don't know what I can do about that

PS.: Just a question: As I had a look at my logs, I saw something in the TsWriter log. It says "pmtgrabber: serviceid mismatch".
Is this indicating a problem? Just wondered...

Needed to use the reset switch to restart the machine.

If you cannot even open Task Manager with CTRL-ALT-DEL then it is probably GPU drivers or something related that is broken, not MP.

PS.: Just a question: As I had a look at my logs, I saw something in the TsWriter log. It says "pmtgrabber: serviceid mismatch".
Is this indicating a problem? Just wondered...

No, it shouldn't be related at all.

Well, as I don't have a keyboard attached right now I can't say if it works, but I will try.
GPU drivers should be okay -> nVidia 280.26 on GT440.
