Everything i can find relating to this problem points at Graphic card HW\drivers or codec issues.

Try ticking the overlay option in FFDShow, then go to output and select the DV box, try with all three settings.

This does seem to be a overlay issue from what i can find out on various forums, but there are lots of different causes, so it is a case of trying various settings.

Backup your whole MP folder by copying it to somewhere else, ie cd etc.

Uninstall MP and after that delete the MP installation folder, c:\programfiles\teammediaportal\mediaportal.

the reason i am asking you to do a clean reinstall, and hopefully the rest of xp is upto date as well, is that MP may be pulling in a old setting from WMP10.

Reinstall MP 0.2.3.0 RC2 and see if video ok now.

Okay, un-installed mediaportal, deleted the folder, re-installed 0.2.3.0 and it still doing the green screen thing?? this could it be a setting in ffdshow?

ok, so I've tried a little xperiment, I've currently got the matrix playing in windows media player, it looks fine, I've then started mediaportal and started the same video from the same source file, and guess what, ITS ALL GREEN, i've opened up both FFDshow icons from the bottom of the screen and gone through the settings one at a time, they are identical!!

another update, I've un-installed FFDSHOW and installed DivXBundle, the same files play fine in windows media player but they are still green in mediportal, the only common thing now amongst all the setups is mediaportal??

More updates, managed to get hold of the nvidia decoder, installed it and fired up media portal.............GREEN AGAIN!!!!!!!!

i have a j7f2 mobo and experienced the exact same problem but i knew that medial portal used to work fine. it turns out that the latest cn700 drivers causes this green video problem and using a previous driver version sorted the issue

    link to previous drivers:

    edit:
i am now using driver version 22.00.01c but 16.94.52.05 also works fine

    look in c:\\programs\windows media player\
    (i hope you have this)
    and run mplayer2.exe
open the avi file now (with mplayer2).
the media player download the right codec and after then the

Yes it really works! I can't beleive it :)
If anyone (like me) installed the newest version of the driver before and now has trouble on installing the older one, just select to choose the driver manually and then directly point it to the .inf, just let him search in the folder won't make him install an older version of the same driver.

I ported this great hint to the german forum, so the german-only people in here also can benefit from this great news!

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
