Redneck: Fix it!
Logic: Could it be working fine for others?
2. Many people are using it without a problem, why does it not work for me?
Redneck: Who cares, fix it!
Logic: Maybe there is something unique about my situation.
3. If it works fine for others, but not for me, how do I make it clear as to why it fails?
Redneck: Why has this become my problem? Fix it already! I told you it was broken, that should be enough!
Logic: Let's see, there is a manual, website, wiki, forum instructions, signature links and common sense that tells me I should supply LOG files. I searched the forum to make sure nobody else is reporting the same problem already. It will probably be smarter to create a new forum thread to make sure my problem does not get lost in the sea of forum chat.
With the log files, and my detailed explanation as to what steps I did that created the log files, the developer or anybody else willing to help can now exactly see why something that works fine for everybody else is causing a problem for me. Without it, all they can ask for is for more information.
Could it be they ignore me, because they prefer to focus on the problems they can solve faster by having access to the information they need to solve it in the first place?
It speeds things up if you approach it with logic.
Fixed, I think.
Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this.
Last time when I installed the...

"Looks like your last successful download was on 5/23.
On 5/24 for some reason we received 194 connections between 10:54 and 11:05
triggering a denial of service attack ban. The logs show it was lifted on 5/25,
but I still see the entry in iptables. I reset fail2ban and hopefully you're
working again."
Weird...

I would have to know more details, and ultimately, I'll have to test it when I get my new display, but an AI answer I got (I don't trust AI and this may not be correct) was that HDR is encoded with the HEVC codec and I know MePo uses the HEVC codec to play 4K UHD Blue-ray discs. So, there is at least the possibility that it will work...

Does MePo 1 pass the HDR metadata, Dolby Vision, HDR10, etc., along to the display when playing 4K UHD Blu-ray discs? If not, are...
I don't know how others run it or have acquired the zap2xml stuff but the instructions I gave apply to anything. It is one line in the zap2xml.pl script that you need to change.
I run on Linux so I simply run the script itself (and once you change that on the next run it will be fine.) I do not know anything about a Windows...
