my HD channels epg data is garbled. this seems to be a problem which even exists in media centre, as it shows no data.

    Hi cypher007

This is a known issue with a known solution. The issue is that the data is compressed to prevent non-Freeview-approved boxes from receiving EPG. The solution is either to use WebEPG, or try the patch from -->here<-- (*only* compatible with MP 1.2.0rc).

Will there be a patch for 1.2.0 Final? I tried the 1.2.0rc patch on my 1.2.0 Final and all DVB-T and DVB-T2 became scrambled instead of just DVB-T2.

I never tried it on 1.2.0rc.

I'll give it another go on 1.2.0, but last time all my EPG became scrambled not just the HD DVB-T2

    Hi again

If it still causes you problems then please let DJBlu know in the thread that I linked. He created the patch so he would be able to help you better than I can.

I used to use the grabber but a few years back it disappeared on FreeSat DVBS. That is when I changed to EPG Collector. The extra benefit is that it collects from the Sky platform so it will give EPG for all the FreeSat channels plus the unencrypted movie channels on the Sky platform. It also allows me to pick the channels dedicated...

Thank you for confirming that U&W works for you. I ended up deleting U&W and rescanning for channels. That fixed the issue.

Got a reply from SD ... "Looks like your last successful download was on 5/23. On 5/24 for some reason we received 194 connections between 10:54 and 11:05 triggering a denial of service attack ban. The logs show it was lifted on 5/25, but I still see the entry in iptables. I reset fail2ban and hopefully you're working again." Weird...

Update: Problem solved! The electronic program guides (tvguide.xml) have been successfully transferred to MediaPortal. The issue stemmed from the corruption of one or both of the mc2xml.dat and/or mc2xml.exe files, for an unknown reason. Consequently, even though the tvguide.xml file appeared to be updated, its content kept being an...
