I got a hdhomerun and I trying to get it setup but its not detecting all the channels I have. I have verified with charter that the channels are in digital the channels are not encrypted since my normal tv can pick them up.

I assume if the channel is not in hdhomerun setup it will not be seen in mediaportal.

Ya, it would be safe to assume, that if the HDHR software didn't find it, neither would MP TV-Server. Have you gone to the link provided by SiliconeDust to see which channels you might have in your area? It will list both OTA and QAM Free To Air Channels that the HDHR should see.

Which model of HDHR do you have? I have the older dual model. MP doesn't yet fully support the Prime, but is being worked on.

Yes I think that I am out of luck getting it to work so it will be going back to amazon. I dont believe that charter broadcasts everything over QAM so of it is ATSC and analog so I will need to find a tuner that will do that.

Well, ATSC is usually provided OTA (antenna). I would think Charter would have both analog and digital channels. Cable Free To Air Digital is usually QAM.

A newer TV with digital tuning will likely pick up both analog and digital broadcasts from cable, I know my Dad's TV does.

Yep the old tv i tested with pickups up all the channels that I get but the hdhomerun will not so I figure that they are not QAM.. I may call charter tech support and ask about the channels I am missing and see before i sent it back.

Well I found out that some of the channels are in analog no digital so i ordered the Hauppauge 1213 WinTV-HVR-2250 I am going to stick in a pc and just use it as my tv server.

I note that you are using MP2. The following applies to MP1, but I think that MP2 is identical in this situation. "TV Server Config" has a "TV Mapping" panel in the "TV Channels" section. On the "TV Mapping" tab: The left column lists the channels that have not yet been mapped to the TV tuner identified by the drop-down menu just...

I've setup my HDHomeRun in MP1 as (4) IPTV cards rather than Atsc. I can see the (4) Atsc cards, but just have them disabled. I did it this way so I didn't have to edit the channel names every time tested a new TV-server install. Anyway, it works. I don't know if this would get you past the BDA driver issue. I'll provide more...

Well, the log doesn't show any problems. I can see correctly tuned channels in the log. It seems to me that the tuner works fine. Can you copy the created ts file(located in your timeshift folder) somewhere else while in channel preview and try to play it in VLC or MPC-HC? PS: You can also try to make short record
