Aussie Media Portal User, you gotta love the TV guide.
G'day All,
this is my first post and my second media pc, (first one was analog TV with Showshifter) and now i have a fully functional Digital HDTV Media Portal, including TV Guide. This is to say thankyou, without this forum i would have given up 3 days ago when i couldnt get the drivers working.
so far i have:
Setup the BDA drivers for my TV Card, then installed the capturecarddefinitions.xml file, and got that working, then configured media portal, very impressed.
Got stuck on the Remote next, every button on my TV Card remote coresponds to a keyboard key, so i assigned the right buttons to the right functions in the Configure app, under General, Keys/Sounds. Fully remote controlled Media PC, very cool.
TV Guide, i dont think i realised what i was getting myself into, downloaded a range of files and apps, none worked till i found sams grabber, works sweet with my geographic location, that is Canberra Australia. I couldnt get it to find any channels, so i tryed Sydney Australia, (300kms North) and it found all the channels. I then downloaded the Tv Programs, and started up media portal, nice, very nice, i have colorful TV Guide with now playing info...
But there was a problem, they were sydney channels and my tv card was configured to display canberra channels. the solution, downloadthe sydney channels and rename them to the canberra channels!
i had to disable a few channels canberra doesnt get but once the names had been changed, cha-ching, every channel with every program! (except the HD channels)
so thanks again guys for your help and if anyone needs the D1XMLTVGrabber.exe.config file for Canberra, to use sydney Tv Guide and Canberra Channels email me and i will send it to ya
