Peter, I can receive that but it's not the right one. I have found a web page which asks which format I want to stream:

Windows audio streams (.asx)
Shoutcast AAC+ (.pls)
Shoutcast MP3 (.pls)

    Is that the right stream?
You can try them but depending on the browser you use and/or programs you have installed, these work or not.

I think you can also use these links to add as a station in MePo but I'm not sure.

I cannot help you if you don't give me more details, therefore I need to know which stream you would like to listen to.
No, a podcast is a recorded show to listen to later, download for a mobile device, ...
A live webstream is the broadcasting from a station, streamed over the web and gives you the ability to listen to it on some kind of computer.

Peter, I really appreciate your help and my apologies for leaving the conversation last night, I was so tired I couldn't see straight (we old people....sigh!)

I understand what you are saying and I see that the ABC has organised things around various shows or streams. The one I want is a continuous stream of the ABC FM station which I believe is possible. From what I read on their help page, I need to use the MePo SHOUTCAST button. I'll check that out later this morning. Thank you and again, my apologies.

    Hi Alan,

No need to apologize for that! ;-)
I did send you a private message but I guess you didn't see that...

    Did you get any further?
To be able to listen to a stream in MePo, you have to add the right address which contains that webstream.
Most of the times, these streams are embedded in a webpage that has a different address then the stream itself.
Therefore, you have to know the address of the stream which is not straightforward and can be different for various stations/sites.
You can test a stream with VLC which is a free, very versatile desktop application to play multimedia files (audio & video).

I don't know what page you are referring to but I didn't find anything regarding

    P.

Peter, I really appreciate your continued efforts. I confess that being a programmer (from before there were programming languages) I tend to focus on the technical stuff and may miss the obvious so I've never bothered to understand how streaming works. I mean I get the moving of files across the net but this seems to be a one-to-one connection (unicast?) involving some sort of protocol and handshaking. So, using a browser for the ABC FM webpage, the LISTEN button will do what...point to a "resource" which the browser understands? The ABC help page, which has since changed so that I can't get the same info, talked about .asx and .pls - is this the sort of resource that MePo expects to find? Btw, I have sent and email to the ABC FM techo's asking for some guidance, though I don't hold out much hope.

I have a response from the tech people at ABC FM.They point me to 3 possible url's:

    http://www.abc.net.au/res/streaming/audio/windows/classic_fm.asx

    http://www.abc.net.au/res/streaming/audio/aac/classic_fm.pls

    http://www.abc.net.au/res/streaming/audio/mp3/classic_fm.pls

All of these produce the following error in the TV Service log when I click preview in TV Server config.

[2014-09-15 16:41:53,715] [Log ] [33 ] [ERROR] - Exception :confused:ystem.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at TvService.TVController.StartTimeShifting(IUser& user, Int32 idChannel, VirtualCard& card, Boolean forceCardId, Boolean& cardChanged)

Testing in VLC, the first url doesn't work but both the second & third work perfectly.

Well, I had already recognized your problem, but I still wanted to point out the basic connections once again. Unfortunately, I don't have a fundamentally different solution for you, but with this approach you should achieve your goal. ;) The idea of first setting the current genre colors with the defines is certainly a good one, as...

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...
