I will try to explain it a little bit more.
The type that is displayed in the channel list for channel doesn't display what types of tuning informations are stored in the db. This field gives you only the types of the cards the channel is mapped on.
Now when you add a new channel to the list it is not mapped automatically to a card and therefor no type is defined.
I would suggest that the setup programs gives you the ability to map the channel to at least one card after you have defined the tuning details.
Or have I overseen an other error in the screenshot ??
But this is a bug for me. When you add a channel you have to specifiy the analog or dvb-s or dvb-t freq. so the setup knows it will be mapped to an analgo card. If there is only one this process should be automatic. if there are more then a window with a choice is the correct behaviour.
For me it is more a missing feature , but I agree with you that this isn't a very user friendly behavior and should be improved.
Since it isn't a problem of the hybrid card feature and I'm working on something else, so I won't create a patch for this. :sorry:
Perhaps one of the devs has some time to look at this problem.
the patch is not necessary. Once you add a channel by hand like I did, you also have to use the TV mapping menu to complete the channel<->card link.
This was pointed out from dman_LFC on irc channel.
Thanks a lot for all the time you are spending fixing TV3.
in some privious posts I found that you manage to get HVR-4000 analog running after reinstalling again Hauppauge driver. This still does not work for me. Do you use external encoders (others then the Hauppauge MCE one)? I got still "no audio compressor found" error. I tried InterVideo Video Encoder trial. This let me scan analog channels but preview still not work (no audio video detected). I'm using the snapshots from 11-14-2007.
you need to install the package "WinTv cd 4" not the "MCE 3.1h".
You can download it here.
the most important parts are "MPEG Software Decoder" and "SoftPVR support".
chemelli,
thanks for the info, I installed now SoftPVR and I now can scan analog channels like I could with Intervideo encoder. They will be now recognized but the preview still showed "failed:NoVideoAudioDetected". There is one interesting point that the frequency on the found channel is always 0.0MHz. I'm not sure if the frequency has any meaning or only the channel number. Is it the same on your channel list?

The problem seems to be in MPFileWriter.Log:
..
MultiFileWriter: OpenFile D:\\live10-0.ts.tsbuffer
MultiFileWriter: OpenFile failed to create file
CMultiWriterFileSink::create file:\\live10-0.ts.tsbuffer failed
..
I found similar problems also in other threads but there seems to be no solution yet.
