    Hi Chesh, welcome back!

What H.264 codec are you using? Which build are you working from?

Hey guys, just read through this thread and I'm not exactly sure what I need to do in order to integrate the HD PVR with MediaPortal. I'm still fairly new to MP, but I'd really like to get this up and running so if anyone could help me out with maybe a fairly concise step by step guide, it would be greatly appreciated. I downloaded the patch that Garry posted but I'm not exactly sure how to install it into MP.

Just to be sure, is this actually fully operational yet?

    John,
It would be nice to have a step by step guide and maybe thats something we can work on, but to get you started here are the big steps...

    1. Download Garry's files on the first post of this thread.
    2. Install the Client. (Do Not configure yet...)
    3. Install the TV Server. (Do not configure yet...)
    4. Install SchedulesDirect plugin (This is the easist way to get channel and guide data. You can sign up for an account at Schedules Direct.)
    5. Install Blaster software.
    6. Configure the TV Server
    7. Configure the MP Client.

If there is something you would like to have expanded further let me know.

    Good Luck!
    Wile E.

Sorry forgot to mention. The attached dll is for latest public SVN build.

    MisterD

    MisterD,
Unfortunately this one didnt work :( When you open the TV Server Config the tuners are shown as 'unknown', and under the Manual Control the tuners show up as N/A. So I couldnt get it far enough to test :(

    Wile E.

Logs please!! You have enabled graph building during startup and than this is a normal behavior that the card is listed as N/A, if the graph building fails. There must be something in the logs, at least there are some log lines missing ;)

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry about that...I figured since the tuners werent recognized, there would be no useful information in the logs. I will get them to you as soon as I get home...

    Thanks!

Ok, found that the MPC codec doesnt' seem to want to work for me in TV mode. So, I switched it to the Arcsoft Video decoder. In fact, here's all my settings under the main TV tab in MP config:

MPEG-2 Decoder - ffdshow Video Decoder
H.264 Decoder - Arcsoft Video Decoder
Audio Decoder - MPA Decoder Filter
LATM AAC - MONOGRAM AAC Decoder
Audio Renderer - Directsound: Realtek HD audio output
    Deinterlace mode - Best
    Default Zoom Mode - Normal

Allowed zoom modes: Normal, Original Source, Zoom, 14:9 Zoom, and Stretch
Checkmark in show channel numbers, channel # length is 3
When entering MyTV: Turn on TV

Anyway, I'm able to get a picture now, but everything seems really laggy, like it's dropping frames. I've tried Deinterlace set to None and Best. Any other recommendations on the settings? I'm so damn close to having this thing working almost like I want it to. Thanks for all the help WileE and garry. You guys rock. Oh, BTW: My MediaPortal build is 1.0.0.0 SVN 12/22 (from the 1st post) and TV3 Server from the first post (12/22 also). Currently I'm using the Blue3 skin, as I thought my previous issue was being caused by the StreamedMP skin, but I'll probably be switchin back to that one soon.

Thanks, I think I got most of that done successfully. I installed the two programs from the first post, set up an account at SD and got the plugin installed. As far as the blaster software is concerned, I have a TWC SA 3250HD box with a firewire port. I've seen programs that will use that port to change the channel, will those work with MP?

I also still do not have a channel lineup, or any picture. What further setup needs to be done to get those?

Also, Wile E, where in Cary are you located? I grew up there and now live over near NCSU.

I'll answer the firewire question for ya, don't bother. I just spent the last week trying to get that stupid thing to work to no avail. You're better off using the modified ServerBlaster plugin found here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/newcomers-forum-240/using-hauppauge-ir-blaster-mp-49578/index2.html#post342913. You'll need to install your IR blaster software that came with the HD-PVR and ya might have to download WinTV 7 and install it's blaster software too. Once you run the BlasterCFG.exe program and set your settings, you'll need to reboot (don't ask me why, it just won't blast until you do). Make sure you have IR.exe in your startup too (should be installed with one of the IR Blaster installs). After that you should be able to blast your box.

Sounds like you are getting very close! Your system spec's show you have 3 drives? Have you tried setting your record folder on a different physical drive from your timeshifting? Some folks here also highly suggest formating your drive with 64k block size...

As far as your SD is concerned, have you set up channel listings on the SD site? I forgot to do that when I first set up my account.

I live close to the Highhouse & Old Apex cross, about a 1/4 mile outside downtown Cary. We are probably less than 10 miles apart if your by NC State...

If you don't mind me asking WileE, what are your settings in the TV section of MP Config for all your decoder settings, etc? For some reason, ArcSoft is the only one working, and I even just installed CoreAVC and all I'm getting is a bar of the picture on the right hand side of the screen, or on other channels, it's super zoomed in to the top left(?). I really suck at all this decoder crap. I'm the type that installs K-Lite on a PC and calls it good. LOL. Any settings / changes you could suggest would be great. Thanks!
