Hey Garry / Willee -

I've got everything up and running... very close to perfect.
But I noticed that when I recorded ER Thursday night that my image stutters really badly when the camera pans left or right.
I am running MPV for Video, ArcSoft AVC Decoder, MPA for Audio... Deinterlace is set to "Best".

Any ideas what I can do to lose the stutter? It will need to be fixed for me to keep the unit.

Thanks again for all your hard work.... so close to done!

Best,
Brian

What video card do you have and what resolution are you running?

Thanks Garry... I am running the onboard HDMI from my ASUS P5Q-EM board...
Running at 1920 x 1080...

Been having better luck with the Cyberlink PowerDVD codec.... but still have a stutter on camera pans.
De-Interlace is set to "best" in the cyberlink properties...

I tried 1280 x 720 (in display resolution) and the stutter still exists..

Thanks again for all your help!
Brian

    Hi all,
I merged garry's patch with SVN and adjusted it to met our coding standards. Therefor please test the attached version with latest public SVN build. If it is working I will commit the changes. And when it isn't working than please post complete logs and describe what isn't working. :D

    misterd,
Its not working for me. I installed the latest SVN, and then copied your patch and overwrote the existing file. The TV Service starts, I can confgure the tuners, but when I try to manually start timeshift, I get a "Unable to Create/Start Graph" error.

    Thanks,
    Wile E.

Edit: Looking at the logs, it appears there is a class not properly instanciated... You will see the"Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error....

I updated the binary in my last post. I removed one line too much :(

But your log showed something interesting:
    Code:
2009-02-14 14:43:33.164315 [10]: analog: IVideoEncoder supported by: Hauppauge HD PVR Encoder; Checking capabilities
    2009-02-14 14:43:33.164315 [10]: analog: Encoder supports ENCAPIPARAM_BitRateMode
    2009-02-14 14:43:33.165292 [10]: analog: Encoder supports ENCAPIPARAM_BitRate
    2009-02-14 14:43:33.165292 [10]: analog: Encoder supports ENCAPIPARAM_PeakBitRate
    So quality control should work.

Also I found some small things which can be optimized in the graph building later on, but let's go step by step.

Okay, Now we're getting somewhere! I installed the latest SVN,with the new patch, and it seems to be working great! I had to update my TV3 Blaster plugin, but so far all looks good.

Is CPU usage high? I wonder if your onboard graphics do HA with the Arcsoft codec.

What refresh rate is your video card set to? I had an issue of panning before that was attibuted to the refresh rate set to 50hz. I now have it set at 60hz...

Refresh is set at 60 hz.... on a samsung plasma tv hdmi connection thru a Denon 2308 amp.
CPU usage is around 20% as I'm using a Intel Core 2 Quad 8200 in my new htpc...

This is driving me nuts... how can I remove all my codecs and just add the ones that I need.
Specifically, I just need an H. 264, FLV, M2ts and MPV and MPA....

Thanks again... looking forward to more suggestions.

    Bri,
Have you tried to hook your PC directly into your TV, bypassing your amp?

    misterd,
So a weekend of playing and I am back to my original setup with Garry's build from the first post. Here are a few things I found playing around...

    1. Channel changes were extremely slow. It took 15-20 seconds to start timeshifting, and between 5-6 seconds between changes. With Garry's build the start time is around 5-6 seconds and channel change is under a second. I tried different quality settings, but didnt make too much difference.
    2. Quality Control Settings Worked! I was able to hit the 'Check' button and it would allow me to set the quality.
    3. MP startup time seemed a little slower, but that is not a turn off to me. Once it was up and running it ran at normal speed.
    4. All my clients were able to connect to the TV server and timeshift.
    5. TV3 Blaster plugin has to be upgraded to work with the new build (If you use Directv Serial control.)

Shall we move on? If you make your 'tweaks' and provide a new build I would be happy to test them out....

Thanks again to Garry & Misterd...
