I have search for 30 minutes and have found NO information regarding how to validate the installation and how to use this product...

Can someone point me in the right direction.. I have installed StreamedMP skin.

Thanks

From the readme file in the download archive:
Installing Moving Pictures
--------------------------

1) Shutdown MediaPortal.

2) Find your MediaPortal install folder. Usually this is something like
C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal.

3) Copy the movingpictures.dll file to the Plugins\Windows\ folder under
your MediaPortal install folder.
If you installed streamedMP then it will auto install the plugin, but you will still want to download the latest version and just copy over the DLL file to the plugins\windows folder and overwrite the old one.

After its installed go to the mp config > plugins. You should see moving pictures, enable it and then go to config. Select the dir where your movies are stored and it should start to scan automatically. After that everything else is automated unless it cant find a match. If that happens click the green circular arrow and enter in the name of the move to try and search manually.

There you go, that should get you up and running. I would like to say you should work on your tone, it seems like you are bitching at everyone for not having a manual. This plugin is still early in its development whit most of those working on the actual code and not a faq or manual.
There is some info here: Main Page - Moving Pictures and i'm sure more is on the way.

There is my first problem.. I followed the instructions in moving the DLL into the Windows folder and when I try to configure the plug-in it is not in the list of plugins..

Second issue is the URL you provided when clicking on the download link nothing shows up

If the instructions are followed as stated above it works perfect.

Are you sure you put the .dll in the proper folder

    C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows

just make sure you remove or overwrite any plugin you update from the plugin\windows folder. Do not just rename. MP will try to load any file in that folder regardless of extension.

Yep... conflict was the issue.. a reinstall proved to be successful.. I was going nuts before saying I am not that dense in getting this stuff working.. great program..

Is there any though on adding Virtual CloneDrive as a supported Daemon? Or is that TeamMedia Portal?

If you have daemon tools it will be able to auto load (iso and the likes) from within MovingPictures. They will then just be another file format loaded by daemon tools as a movie in moving pictures.
You have to configure it in Mediaportal though.
I don't know if virtual drive supports autoloading... I know MP does not have a configuration item for that

When I am trying to get some hardware or software to work and I am experiencing problems, my usual procedure is: simplify, simplify, simplify. That means avoid making choices that may not work; instead make the "standard" choice, which is often simply accepting the default. A static IP address is known to work with MP1. An address...

If you use a VPN connection to your home network, you should be able to use the MP client to connect to your server natively instead of using MPExtended.
