Is there anyone else that have problems with IPIMP on IOS 4.3?
When I upgraded my Iphone 4 to ios 4.3 the TV part is working but when stopping the TV and you should get back to
previous page where you can stop the running stream, I'm only stuck with Quicktime background. I'm unable to go "back"
so that I can stop the stream. Haven't had this problem previously with iOS 4.2.1... The workaround is to logon to IPIMP again and then stop the running stream...

Also for the record I have problems playing other transcoded videos as well... I'm beginning to regret I upgraded...

Yes - I notice video playback in Mobile Safari has changed with iOS 4.3, you can always just use Safari's back button to navigate back to the streaming status page. Although from your description I assume you're launching iPiMP as a full screen web app.

What is your issue with other transcoded video - is that outside of iPiMP?

Hi cheesey, well the transcoded video I have is trancoded via the AirVideo app and stored in Itunes.
It is h.264 encoded and AAC from a .VOB (DVD) original. This works absolutely perfect on 4.2.1 but it is choppy and no sound on 4.3... I really don't want to re-transcode my videos...

Is it safe to follow the various YouTube videos to downgrade an IOS 4.3 to 4.2.1? (Not jailbreaked by the way...). I'm just a bit worried it is not the "original" 4.2.1 image that they provide... Anybody else tried downgraded?

About the IPIMP - I didn't know I can run it any other way than full screen... Also I have problems with the cookies not to stick - meaning I must always log in...

Firstly I don't know about downgrading iOS without being jailbroken, I would say that even if it doesn't work you could always stick 4.3 back on. There is also talk about Apple releasing 4.3.1 soon to patch a Mobile Safari vulnerability recently discovered. Have you read any other reports of videos being broken between 4.2 and 4.3?

As for full screen, you can of course just use iPiMP through launching the Mobile Safari browser, in fact there are other reports that the recent performance changes for Mibile Safari in iOS4.3 do not apply to full screen web apps. The Register: Sci/Tech News for the Mobile World

Finally, not sure what the issue is with your cookies but I've found that if I add the homescreen bookmark after I have logged in in the browser then launching the full screen web app does not require a login every time.

Well the "back" problem with IPIMP is easily solved with not running fullscreen - and yes I had it running from the home screen. Good article about the homescreen/Safari "glitch" - could be the reason that it doesn't work anymore when saved to a homescreen.

Regarding, the downgrade I'm a bit reluctant to testing downgrade... I'm a bit worried if the device gets in some sort of "middle of things" and isn't able to boot up - or even not able to install any IOS... The thing is I have the video problem also with my son's Ipod 4th gen 4.3 and my daughters ipod is not upgraded... So you can imagine I'm not my son's favorite family member right now...

Just some update of the video playback problem in ios 4.3, it seems it is only affecting multi-channel videos.

Apple - Support - Discussions - Video Playback issues with iOS 4.3 ...

There are others having the same problem... Well I need to wait until Apple releases an update that will hopefully resolve this.

set timer with iPiMP

Hello,
I'm searching for a plugin to set a timer (recording) in Mediaportal from the internet e.g. by using my handy (Android Froyo 2.2) or another pc. I think iPiMP is able to do this!?. Which parts of your software packet do I have to install? Do I need to have the Mediaportal client or the Mediaportal TV-Server running when I want to set a recording with iPiMP?
I only want to install the minimum software packet.
I have a multiseat installation (Intel Atom cpu 1,6GHz on Mediaportal TV-Server and on Mediaportal client) and everything is working quite stable at the moment. Does this plugin need much system resource? Is the software running quite stable?

Since my upgrade to ios 4.3 I got problems watching live TV. After 10-15 minutes the picture just stops but audio continues.
The picture stops - but not freezing - the Quicktime background is placed there instead. After pressing back and then start the picture - without stopping the stream - all is well again.

I can't remember I have ever had this when running ios 4.2.1. Nothing else has changed in my environment (that I know of).

Anybody seen this before?

Hi cheezey,
I took a look into the wiki. But my problem is that I don't know exactly what software I have to install on my client and on my tv-server. I think that I only have to install "Dedicated TV server installation" on my tv server pc and "MediaPortal remote control web installation" on my client pc. Is this right? I only want to set a recording in mediaportal with my handy. That's all.

If you only want to set recordings then you will only need to install "Dedicated TV server installation".

If you want to interact with your MP client in the future you would install "MediaPortal remote control plugin".
