it should work this way already as far as i can recall, just say press the menu button and then you can say stop it by pressing the square on the remote ot by B i think it is. Then just load up something else, if you dont' press the record button again to stop it , it should keep running.
In TV engine #2, the program will still be recorded as long as MP is running, no matter where you are.
In TV engine #3 then the program will be recorded even if the mediaportal application has stopped (although I think this is onlt the case for scheduled recordings, not manual recordings started via the application)

@CyberSimian Sorry, I missed your last post. I ended up doing a clean install on the client and all is well now. It still doesn't let me go back in time when I change channels but it does continue operating from that point on. I'm ok with that. Thanks for your help!
