First of all, I'd go socket 754 and a 64 bit CPU. It's close to the same price for the speed and socket A is now a dead end.
I also think you'll find features like hi-def audio are more common on 754 boards than Socket A and you can get built in DirectX 9 support in hardware.
I have a Jetway I love and there is a 754 version of it. But they didn't put SPDIF on the 754 version of the board. Otherwise it would be perfect.
Look for ATi and NVidea chipset boards that support DirectX 9.
There should also be a DirectX 9 capable VIA chipset on the market some time soon... possibly by the end of the year.
Just look for the features you want and the proper TV out for your setup. Many boards don't have TV out.
That was kinda vague so I did a search on my vender of choice's site. Here are the possible candidates they had. You'll need to research the features to make sure which ones have everything you need since it was just a search based on video/form factor:
ECS do a socket 754 version of the RS482 chipset, that could well be a good choice for you. Its has the features you require + the onboard DX9 capable graphics, would be more than enough for your media portal needs.
Can anyone tell me the step-by-step procedure for bringing up a second channel in pip mode? I can only do it sometimes, after many tries, and it’s not clear what I am doing that makes it work on those occasions when it does. Cannot find guidance on the site.
Thanks, N.
Again, if anyone knows how to do this, would be much...

Most (all?) small PC cases accept only ITX motherboards, which have only one PCI-E slot. So you could install only one PCI-E tuner card. A quad-tuner card would give you four tuners, but if you wanted more tuners you would need to use the TBS eight-tuner card, or use external tuners, either USB tuners (available with single or dual...

Ran into this problem following an otherwise sucessful upgrade from MP 1.34 x64 to MP 1.35 x64 the CEC Remote plugin which I use just to control volume and standby, will no longer put my devices (TV & AVR) to sleep when the HTPC is put in standby. Also when I wake up the HTPC MP closes or crashes (not sure which) as per the example in...

Hi,
my answers to your questions:
I use MariaDB 10.5 and Mediaportal 1.33 x86 as a user, not an administrator.
MP. When I start Mediaportal, no TV service appears to have started.
If I start Mediaportal as administrator everything is ok.
Starting the TV service separately is only possible as an administrator.
If I then start...
