Thank you for fast answer. Im not sure about Hidir service. I must check if is disabled or not.. Probably is disabled. Kyeboard don't need to work in BIOS. I don't need this, but I like that in XP everything work normal. Bye

P.S where is screenshot?

    oops, here it is...

This shows how to disable HidIr ...

You should also double check that you're not using the replacement driver ...

    Cheers,

    Hi..

yesterday I check situation on my HTPC. I have ehome driver and IR server. In IR server I turn on everything what is in documentation. But I see that I have enabled Hdir service.. I try turn of this service and than my remote dont work well. Only work few buttons. MCE remote then works excelent. When I enable Hdir service than remote works ok, but then MCE kyeboard works on strange way. I can't use arrows adn sometime kyeboard don't work. When I turno off Hidr service I see in device manager sign ? . I tray to disable this commponet in device manager, but situation is same. Now I don't know what is right prosedure to install Ir server.

    I think:

    1. instal ehome driver
    2. instal IR service
    3. disable Hidr service (in IR server)
    4. I dont know what I must setup in MCE replacment plugin (MCE remote turno on, or off??? ) now is off. I try to turn on, but nothings change.

Summary.. now when I have ehome driver, ir server and enebled Hidr service i can use remote and kyeboard (but with some problems), when I disable Hidr i can't use remote, but kyeboard works excelent.

I dont use any of this stuff.. I just remapped the buttons in MP-Setup(in the remote section). To get them to work i had to install some special win update. After that ive had no problems at all.

It sounds like there is something wrong with your setup outside of IR Server. Maybe you need to update your drivers like Darre suggests.

Also, just to make sure there is no misunderstanding. Don't use the MCE Replacement Plugin and IR Server Suite at the same time. If you use IR Server Suite then use the MP Control Plugin in it for all the MCE Replacement Plugin features.

Also, disabling HidIr will disable a HID driver in device manager. This stops windows from automatically handling button presses.

There is another thread around here somewhere with links to the updates.

    Here's one worth trying...

    Hope that helps,

Yesterday I check my HTPC. I install Microsoft rollup update for ehome driver, but nothing happend. I have Ir server with enabled Hidr service and then mce kyeboard works better. When I disable Hidr then MCE kyeboard works ok, but remote don't work. Only few buttons. I try to enabe MCE remote in plugin in media portal setup window but nothing happend.

Only everthing work when I have IR server and Hidr is enable. Then MCE kyeboard work but not 100%, and remote works ok.. I don't know what I can to do, else reinstal XP and start all from begining.

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

The layout of remotes does vary from one model/brand to another. I too find that some layouts are better than others. Generally, I prefer the buttons that I use most-frequently to be positioned near the center of the remote, which is not the case with that particular Dell remote. :( Battery life is often a problem. A remote that I...

The only changes I see are: Updated Marcel Groothuis version of the plugin to now support Media Portal 2.5 I can't say anything about the functionality of this plugin, I don't use TV Part, but if there are any changes that can be simply transferred, then I can try. But I can't give any guarantees.
