MediaStream skin for MP (2 Viewers)

Well if someone wants what I've done to continue on he just has to ask. ;-)

"Could you perhaps share the current skin-work, I'm sure a few here would like to continue the work..."

I have already made the home screen, but I would REALLY like to not redo the rest of the skin, as this home-screen took like a whole week (lots of animations and stuff)

Actually I think mine look worse than the original. mostly because the non-bold default font is missing. I have no idea where this one is? It's not included with mediastream. There's only 2x bold (2 exactly same fonts ), 1x bold caps, 1x non-bold caps.

Sure...but beware, it's only a crude prototype, if I do the rest of the skin I will make a plugin for MP that will generate the myHome.xml file, by checking which plugins are installed and enabled. Right now, I have to do changes manually and it takes like forever (editing the xml-file manually).

The textures are not quite the same as in MediaStream, but it's more a proof of concept than it is a finished file

ATM I have only included these pages: weather, movies, music, pictures, tv, plugins, system. Plex/XBMC has a lot of settings available in the "blade" in each module, and since these are not in MP (most settings done from the standalone MP Configuration program) I have not put in a blade that slides out when you press enter.

The prototype doesn't remember last opened module right now. If I decide to finish the home-screen I think I'll put it in the plugin.

Edit: You need the fonts from the MediaStream skin if you want the fonts to be right. And like spuck I don't know why there's missing a font, and the same font is include twice, but with different names? Perhaps it's just a mistake...

mattsk88 and I are making progress, but we have to agree what resolution to make it. I think that the original skin is 1280 x 720 and that suits my needs perfect, but I know a lot would rather have it 1366 x 768...so, we may have to do two resolutions.

no point in doing 1366x768 imo, you'd just be upscaling the original graphics anyway? MP already does that.

If we can believe MP's screen survey:
31% of the users uses 1920*1080
20% of the users uses 1280*720
15% of the users uses 1366*768

1280*720 works well on 1280*720 screens, 1366*768 screens, and also 1920*1080 screens.
While 1366*768 only works well on its native resolution.

Imho, there's no point in focussing on 1366*768

And lower resolutions seem to run faster too
