From looking at screenshots, the two have quite different layouts, so I think there will be room for both! And i guess there is always the chance to mix 'n match bits from both

What sucks in the skin engine btw is that text always wants to be on top, so no way to fade the text at the top\bottom
I've seen menu backgrounds that overlay text... there should be a way to do it... and do a transparency fade to cover the top and bottom.

I don't think I was clear here.. The problem is with the menu changing.. the new text when you scroll sets itself on top (as it was the latest thing applied). Might work to reapply the texture after each element tho, but this is to complicated to do manually.

Looking forward to you release guys, its gonna be awesome! Probably the most user friendly advanced skin MP has seen to date! When its complete the MP devs should consider shipping it with the program like team XBMC has started doing with MediaStream.
