Hi,

problem reporting here again...

My setup: Antec Fusion Black Remote (iMon LCD OEM), MCE Remote.

Minidisplay controls my LCD without (major) problems. But If I activate Minidisplay it sets "frontview" in Soundgraph manager to "never" automatically. This disables the IR Receiver of the display (MCE Remote does not work any more, strangely iMon Pad works still but I hate it). If MP is closed I can reconstruct the problem: Frotview set to never, MCE does not work (like up-down in notepad file), set to "always" or "automatic": it works.

Can it be set somehow that Minidisplay does not change the "frontview" settings of Soundgraph?

Thanx!

PS: CybrDisplay behaves the same, iMon Version does not play any role (6.2-7.4 etc)

I have the same problem, but only occasionally, and in my case it is MCE that still partly works (only direction buttons, nothing else), but not iMON PAD. I have under Advanced Tab of MiniDisplay plugin in MP Configuration set that MiniDisplay should ensure Frontview is enabled before MP starts, that it should be restarted after MP loads and that after MP is closed, the Frontview should be enabled again. This should help resolve the problem, but again, in my case this does not always work.

It almost never works when I let MP auto-start with Windows and a radio-station be automatically tuned in. A start-up delay for MP (e.g. 15 seconds) does not solve this problem.

Because of these continous problems since april 2008 already (I have tried almost all possible options: various versions of CybrDisplay, MiniDisplay, MP, iMon Manager, etc. etc.), I now decided to use a Logitech Harmony 555 remote (set as a MCE remote) instead of my iMon PAD. But I am afraid that I will continue to have these problems even with this remote, if I let the remote work with the iMON IR-receiver, which integrated in my Chieftec case.

Should I simply buy a USB MCE IR-receiver for my Logitech Harmony and get rid of my everlasting problems?
And: does anyone with an integrated OEM iMON VFD also have problems that their mouse cursor occasionally jumps and Windows becomes inactive (as if someone is continuously pressing ALT-button)? How to solve this?

Just replying to add more weight to issues with the Antec Fusion iMon/SoundGraph/VFD, MiniDisplay pluggin and IR issues.

I'm hoping in the new future this will be fixed, if its not could someone let me know and I may try to come up with a patch to get something working. I've opted to not use the MiniDisplay pluggin at this time because I need remote control access to media portal rather than the display functioning in media portal. Same setup i'm using a Harmony Remote 555, binned the cheap Veris remote lol. Wish I could get the VFD working think thats the only thing thats incomplete on my current setup (excluding Blu-Ray hack integration).

Started media center builds in December with Vista Media Center only just moved over to MediaPortal this month and i'm very pleased with the overall results. Will update my system spec data so you can see my setup asap. Best subscribe to this thread incase people reply ;)

I would like to accentuate that my problems are iMon Receiver / iMon Manager related and have basically nothing to do with Minidisplay. If Frontview is deactivated, MCE remote does not work. Always, reproducibly. Independent from Mediaportal. Unfortunately Minidisplay needs Frontview deactivated :-(

I have set up a system with iMon VFD already, thi display did not have this issue. LCD with MCE R%emote is the problem. LCD with iMon Pad works also.

Yes, if I was unclear its the same problem. If I install MiniDisplay it deactivates FrontView which in turn disables the IR functions to an extent. MiniDisplay and iMon/IR at present are incompatiable.

There were some posts on soundgraphs forum about grounding problems with their displays. Symptom would be a repeating button press, when no button was pressed. The problem was the screws holding the lcd in the case had rubbed the insulating green film of the pcb board. This caused a ground short on the board. The fix was to put insulation, rubber washer or electrical tape or fiber washer, between the pcb board and the screws - as well as between the pcb board and the case. Maybe it will help you.

I havent read all your complaints but in general my setup is working.
I have Thermaltake DH101 with iMon VFD running. Minidisplay is working fine.
The remote is setup as iMon remote in FrontRow.
What else? Win Vista x86, latest iMon software, MP 1.0.

Gimme a testing scenario then I can check on my computer, but I think your general conclusion
MiniDisplay and iMon/IR at present are incompatiable
is a little bit over the top.

FrontRow? What's that? What do you mean by that? Currently, I have my iMon configured in the iMon Manager to work with MP keyboard shortcuts, that's the easiest way I could find to make the iMon remote work. Which approach are you using?

Ok its good to know someone has it working in their setup there is hope for me yet.

Could you post version numbers of your drivers running, settings of them and what plugin version you have inc their settings so that I can try and use your setup as a guide.

    Regards Nick

He means frontview i'm sure, for your information i'm using the MediaPortal shortcuts in iMon also, easiest way to map MCE remote buttons to Media Portal for iMon users.

    Hey,
and sorry. I mixed up FrontView and FrontRow.
I'm using a Harmony one remote. Left everything default in iMon except disabling FrontView. Configured my case in the Logitech Software and thats it.
Only some of my case buttons do not work jet. But thats another topic.
I configured MiniDisplay plugin with the iMon solution database.
    greets
