I think the issue that some people might be experiencing with some banners it is seems MP-TVSeries is not handling some special characters in the tile correctly. For example I can confirm that if there is a '+' in the title, it will not create a folder in the thumbs dir or attempt to download banners even though it correctly downloads the reason of the series information.

Anyone experiencing commit failed after adding a entry (using the import in the config) into the DB? thats the type of stuff im getting with the new beta svn. Let me know... I am not done troubleshooting. Just curious at this point.

I came across an odd situation recently when trying to add a new series. The series exists in the Online TV Database (it's called First Australians and can be found at First Australians: Series Info). The importer says that it cannot find the series, based on the file name, and manual searches for the whole title, or even sub-strings like first or fir or aus don't return the right show (some other search results do turn up, though, so the search is happening).

I eventually opened up the DB and manually changed the series ID and episode table values (the episodes were in the DB with a series ID of -4) and now it works fine - banner art has been downloaded as well as episode names, descriptions, etc.

Not sure what's going on - whether the problem is with the search code in MP TV Series or if there's an API issue with the Online TV Database. The problem occurs with various versions of the plugin.

I have a problen that started after I upgraded to the SVN(from 2.0)
When I try to play an episode, the focus goes back to the skin and
the video output is hidden. Audio is present so I know that the file is playing.

Running MP 1.0RC4 with latest SVN
I use the skinfile that comes with black&white1080 and use fanart(random fanart and show in main screen option = off)

Tested more then one filetype avi/mkv

Have the same problem again!

But this time I can see that MP suffers a crash(in background) when I start playing an episode and loose focus
This is a brand new machine with Vista Ulitimate SP1 + MP 1.0 RC4 + SVN
Machine = aopen minipc MP965-DR, with UMA GCard

can it be a backdrop problem? both tv series and black&white use backdrops.
Bug only in tv-series, not in my movies

Duplicate entries

Hi,

For some reason, I am getting two copies of some episodes in my database. The problem seems to be to do with the fact I download all episode data available for a series. When I do an online sync, and where I have no episode available (so there's an entry in the db but no file), and then later have the file on disk, I end up with two instances of that episode showing.

For example, I have a series for which I have the first two episodes, although the entire series has aired. I end up with, say, 12 entries for the entire series, but with only two files available. I then get episodes 3 and four - I then end up with two entries for each of those two files. If I delete the episodes from the db (either within MP via the F9 button, or through the config gui), and then rescan, I correctly get single episodes again.

Could this have anything to do with the code for duplicate episodes discussed elsewhere?

i agree.

also, any plans on releasing a new version with the arrival of mp1? just so people can download a solid tvseries to go with their mp1?

also. i think a mpi file should be created for the stable release, as well as added to be available to dowload witht he plugin installer that comes with mp1

Will do (I presume this is in Google Code?). I just ran a test this morning and my assumptions above weren't correct. It seems I get double episode entries even if there are no pre-existing database entries. I just added some episodes from four brand new series not yet in the DB and all episodes ended up in the DB twice. I'll head over to the issue tracker and post the log - but I'll attach the log here too (new series added are Chuck, Gary Unmarried, Leverage and IT Crowd).
