that could be the problem, I created and new folder with only 2 sub-folders, 631 files total, none in the share folder.
and it is working!!

these were put in another folder and it took 3 mins to load the thumbs, but it worked!!
Is it possible for MPExtender to write a file with thumbs for faster loading of large folders?

Your files are on network share which slower than the local files. Try to split to subfolders and keep the file count under 500 files in a folder.

@regeszter can you add the ability ro play the RTSP stream as MP1 client ?
because my bundle server/tablet dislike the transcoding, and the AC3 is not supported on my tablet by MxPlayer.
i tried yesterday with Ampdroid and VLC for the RTSP stream, and worked very well, rtsp seems not supported by MxPlayer.

Please.

There is a direct transcoding profile. Can you try that?

yep, with Direct VLC transcoding, but it pixelize every time, and audio AC3 is not supported, also with custom codec on MxPlayer
