Can someone be kind to help? I got no sound when playing music (mp3 files) after upgraded to MP 1.3 from MP 1.2.3. I still have sound when playing DVDs, Videos, and Mkv.

Thanks,
DanTX

Thank you for the quick response, Vasilich. Here's the log files. Please look at it and let me know as soon you find out.

Thanks,

i don't see anything suspicious in the logs.
Do all of your played videos have 5.1 sound?
have you checked that during music playing the MediaPortal volume (not the main volume!) in windows sound mixer is set to 100% ?

as an alternative you can try to set use of DSPlayer instead of BASS player in MP configuration.

From a BASS point of view, everything is ok. There is no single error displayed.
I would assume, what Vasilich suggested above. Something is muted.

There was no single change on the Music Player from 1.2.3 to 1.3. So i doubt that the upgrade is the reason for it.

Means you have sound for Dolby Digital, DTS...

    What you can do is:

    1. Start MP (maybe in window mode)
    2. Play a MP3
    3. Open windows sound mixer (e.g. via taskbar)
    4. Check if MediaPortal volume is not muted.

Yes, as it turned out the MP volume is muted during music playing. Wonder why the log didn't show that. Thanks so much everyone for looking into this.

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...

I have also had this problem in the past. There are two components to this problem: Your internet router is pinging the HTPC at regular intervals in order to see if the HTPC is still present on the network. The network adapter in the HTPC has "Wake on Lan" enabled. So at the end of a recording, the HTPC transitions from away mode to...

After many hours of troubleshooting I've given up and accepted that it's just "one of these things" when using madVR for watching live TV. I've now ticked the box to "Use EVR for LiveTV", with a default display refresh rate of 50Hz. In combination with tweaking some of the Nvidia 3D settings for the MP executable only, I now have a...
