    Hello hwahrmann,

    I have came up with more ideas/features with might be interesting;

    1. Autoplay when returning to home screen if nothing else is playing
    2. keystroke to start playing from any other screen than home screen
    3. Autoplay after x seconds of user inactivity on any screen

    Cheers,
    Flip

I installed the newest plugin version last night, but I still don't really understand how to setup a numeric button to use for just doing a shuffle on the active playlist. As I understand it, I just click the "shuffle" box and leave the list box empty, and this would shuffle the current list? Did I miss something?

    Thanks.

In the "Numeric Button Behavours" tab page, you choose the button, you want to have for shuffling.
in the combo box select "Playlist".
the "Value" text box is empty, since you don't want to load a specific playlist. The currently active playlist is used therefor
    check the Shuffle check box.

now when you press the assigned button, while in home, the currently loaded playlist is shuffled.

Number 1. and 3. will be available in Version 1.9.

I won't do 2. as it will cause interference with other plugins. you always can press the Home key and with option 1. available now, it'll do what you want.

I have just using this plugin: a top effort:D

Firstly, the albumart/track info box works out-of-the-box (in the bottom-right corner) when pressing any of my pre-defined playlists for one button music.

But using various visualizations (in fullscreen mode), I get varied, but unsuccessful results for the generation of the albumart & track info listing at song change.

With Sonique's Aorta, I get the albumart but no track info. With Sonique's Rabbit Hole 1.1, I get no track info or albumart; just the default volume speaker in the blank box -in top-left corner. This is using my remote's numeric keys for pre-defined playlists/genre types. The albumart/track info works perfectly from within the music section of MP. When I load an album/playlist, then the albumart/track info box is generated properly.

One thing I have just noticed in writing this, I stopped a playlist, went to basic home screen & clicked on the number 0 remote button, which is assigned to random song selections. At song change, the box only shows the albumart from the previous music playlist (in this case 10cc front album cover).

Not sure what logs to supply, if any. Any ideas on where to start? Thanks again.

Found the error. It is fixed in MP 1.1.0 RC1

    Top plugin

    Hello hwahrmann!

Thanks a LOT for your time you put in the latest version of this plugin!
For me, it is now perfect! :D

The autoplay after x seconds turned out to be even better than i thought, MP now has background music!
I thinks this is the only autoplay function i will be needing now since it will autoplay after startup, after standby, from any screen.

    AMAZING WORK
    :D

    Cheers,

    Hello,

just one question about the (very interesting) "autoplay after x secs"-function: Will this interfere with the powerscheduler? I usually configure MP in a manner that after 10 minutes w/o recording and in Home-Screen MP will shut down into hibernate. Until now I observed that playback of music avoided this shutdown (which IMO is the correct behaviour). Will the One-button-autoplay have a different status, i.e. will it allow powerscheduler to shutdown MP (and stop playback on shutdown request)?

No it won't have a different status.
if you have configured to AutoPlay after n-sec of inactivity, then NO shutdown will occur

No it won't have a different status.
if you have configured to AutoPlay after n-sec of inactivity, then NO shutdown will occur

This is a pity, especially because it also is valid for all the other autoplay variants. Is it possible to evaluate the shutdown request from powerscheduler and then stop playback? Then this scenario would be possible:
    • turn on HTPC/MP and don't touch it any more (or HTPC silently starts due to a recording)
    • wait the intial timeout
    • autoplay starts music
    • after, say, 30 min (or at the end of the recording) playback stops again and the HTPC shuts down.

However this should not happen, when I started playback 'actively'. This leads me to the core question: Does MP know once playback has started, whether it was started by 'autoplay' or by 'user starting playback by any traditional, active way'? Only if this information is available it could be possible to set up the scenario described above.

If it is not possible it would be sad but not catastrophic. However I would then propose to alert users about the interferences with powerscheduler in a single-seat configuration.

    kind regards from Stuttgart
