*ORIGINAL THREAD* InfoService v1.6 - Feed reader/Twitter reader and weather (1 Viewer)

For those of us still using the older mediaportal....can we still use the latest infoservice? I ask because your webbrowser plugin specifically says it's for the newer 1.1 version....if so...what is the last version we CAN run and where can it be located?

InfoService 1.2 can be used with Mediaportal 1.0 and Mediaportal 1.1 Beta. There should be no problems. The WebBrowser v0.5 works too with both version. Only the WebBrowser v0.6 (which is not public, only v0.5) does only work with Mediaportal 1.1 Beta.

I attempted to install these on mediaportal 1.02....medaportal 1.02 looks for .mpe files instead of .mpe1 but I selected "all files" and tried to load them anyway but got an eof error. I'm assuming you packaged them using the mediaportal 1.1 packager and it's not compatible with the older version?

Thank you Chris, the rar file worked like a champ however you removed the scrolling ticker you had at the bottom of the xface main page? I replaced the files in my mediaportal with the skin files in the rar and the ticker you had previously provided a basichome file for disappeared. Do I need to change something?

That's weird. I used the same files which are in the mpe1 package. Anyway Addow has posted some files for Xface skin here.

Btw @all: InfoService seems to be nearly complete and it runs stable. Time to add some features Write me your ideas for infoservice and i'll try to add them.

Maybe out of scope here but would it be somehow possible to communicate with uTorrent webui frontend?
For example display the info from webui like a feed so you would have something like : "torrent1 - ##% done - downloading | torrent2 etc..."

Just a suggestion, might be a hack of a lot of work to get done if so it might not be worth the trouble. Just wanted to throw this out.

I should probably not have mentioned basichome.xml cause I want to say in our original conversation you were not sure how to edit it and you edited another menu...in any case I looked at the pics addow posted and the menu he's using is not the one I'm using..here's a pic taken when the ticker was working using a modified xml file you sent me (common.rss.xml maybe?) The ticker is scrolling the rss feed generated by BeyondTV at the bottom showing recenty recorded items and upcoming recordings.

Is it possible to upgrade the weather-part to also show stuff like wind, UV index, feels like temperature and other? Is the source weather.com like the original weather-plugin?

Yes it's the same source (National and Local Weather Forecast, Hurricane, Radar and Report). What properties do you want especially. I don't wanna add some properties and afterthen they are not needed

I tried the two files in the thread you posted....overwriting the one in the xface skin dir...I also tried the original common.rss.xml you posted: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/474575-post116.html

I've tried reinstalling XFace 1.9 first then copying one or both of your files....in any case what I end up with is the normal xface 1.9 screen with weather in upper left but no ticker on bottom. Am I missing something?
