i downloaded MP 1.21 and the skin mustayaluca via the website. it worked fine for a few days(about 10). then all of a sudden, when i try to open something, like a movie or album, a pop up appears saying mediaportal is experiencing a problem and has to shut down. it did this every time i used it there after. so i uninstalled MP1.21 and installed the older 1.3 version, used a different skin and it works perfectly. is it MP or could it be the skin? or doesn't my pc meet the requirements for the 1.21 version.
Would need the pc specs to comment about that, gave up my other career as a mind reader

So this log is with the 1.1.3 version that is working fine for you?
We need the log files for when it crashes.
If everything worked fine for 10 days, I would suspect a corrupted database or something similar. You could try deleting the database files in
C:\Program Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal
and trying again.

yes it is. saying that tho, now and again i have to restart MP because my remote will not navigate thru anything. tho i am able to do this with mouse. this is with v1.13.
would deleting what you have said mean i have to do a fresh install on everything. what about the media portal back ups. there are about 4 of them

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ?
MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.

I have been using it For 16 years now (from V1.1.1) and it has worked flawlessly.
I only use TV Series and Moving...
The only configuration that is certain to work is when the MP client and MP server are from the same release.
It is sometimes possible to use MP clients from a release that is different to the MP server, but whether it works depends on the specific changes that were made between the two releases.
