Nice, we need something like that for MP. Maybe as MP2 is more straight designed in a server-client manner we could come up with a micro client getting all important stuff from the server, inculding fanart.

True, but aMPdroid is still more a seperate application with focus on mobile devices. This XBMC android port is a true xbmc on an android system.

I'm glad someone has noticed the xbmc android development. I would absolutely love for MP to have a similar proper android port. I'd see this being great for MP clients. I imagine it would make it cheaper and simpler to setup and maintain multiple clients around the house. Coinciding with MP2 would be ideal :)

What would be better is if mediaportal could serve it's media library as a uPnP/DLNA media share, that way you could use WDTV and a dozen other media players as media extenders.

Looks like XBMC just announced its android port

the android port now comes with pvr. They no hardware decoding so any thing hd will run slow.. the mediaportal pvr plugin work just as well as the windows xbmc version.. But the bad news is pvr mediaportal is not final and locks or a crashed xbmc.

Raspberry Pi has mpeg-2 hardware decoding available:

    http://www.raspberrypi.com/mpeg-2-license-key/

    Also, has VC-1 hardware decoding:

    http://www.raspberrypi.com/vc-1-license-key/

XBMC PVR has been merged into the mainline and RASBMC has PVR builds available:

    http://www.raspbmc.com/

And PVR is also available on the Open Elec builds:

    http://openelec.tv/component/k2/ite...nd-raspberry-pi-support-and-important-changes

I am currently using a Pi as an XBMC frontend with PVR via MP Plugin and it works great.

Most (all?) small PC cases accept only ITX motherboards, which have only one PCI-E slot. So you could install only one PCI-E tuner card. A quad-tuner card would give you four tuners, but if you wanted more tuners you would need to use the TBS eight-tuner card, or use external tuners, either USB tuners (available with single or dual...

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

Ran into this problem following an otherwise sucessful upgrade from MP 1.34 x64 to MP 1.35 x64 the CEC Remote plugin which I use just to control volume and standby, will no longer put my devices (TV & AVR) to sleep when the HTPC is put in standby. Also when I wake up the HTPC MP closes or crashes (not sure which) as per the example in...
