    Neptuni:

    Try unzipping all the files in the zip into a new folder and then loading a "Command Prompt" in that folder.

    Start, Run, Cmd.exe

    Change to the new folder and then run the exe.

    You will need to disable any other software that is interacting with that device before you do or it will interfere.

    If you continue to have trouble with it I will try something different...

    Thanks,

    Hi again,

    This is the respons when I run the exe with the receiver plugged in:

    System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: Failed to open device
    vid InputService.Plugin.IR507Receiver.Start() i F:\MediaPortal Development\Pl
    ugins\IR Server Suite\IR Server Plugins\IR507 Receiver\IR507Receiver.cs:rad 225
    vid InputService.Plugin.IR507Receiver.Main() i F:\MediaPortal Development\Plu
    gins\IR Server Suite\IR Server Plugins\IR507 Receiver\IR507Receiver.cs:rad 398

    And this is the respons when I run the exe without the IR reciever plugged in:

    System.ApplicationException: Device not found
    vid InputService.Plugin.IR507Receiver.Start() i F:\MediaPortal Development\Pl
    ugins\IR Server Suite\IR Server Plugins\IR507 Receiver\IR507Receiver.cs:rad 219
    vid InputService.Plugin.IR507Receiver.Main() i F:\MediaPortal Development\Plu
    gins\IR Server Suite\IR Server Plugins\IR507 Receiver\IR507Receiver.cs:rad 398

    "rad" is swedish for line...

    I hope this will help you further.

    /Mikael

    Hi Aaron,

    Just another thought, are the paths hardcoded, I noticed the path F:\... in my previous reply?
    I put the files in C:\IR507, and changed the name on the .exe to IR507.exe to avoid using a space in the filename.

    Thanks for your effort!

    /Mikael

    Neptuni:

    ok, firstly, the paths are relative to my development environment, not your local paths. So don't let that worry you.

    The error "Failed to open device" looks like something else might be using the device... is there software that came with it running?

    I'll make some more changes to see if there is something I'm doing wrong and I'll post another version to try soon.

    Also, I'm going to split this conversation out into a separate thread ...

    Thanks for your help so far, I'm sure we'll get this working for you and the other IR507 users out there.

    Cheers,

    Hi Aaron,

    There are no installed software for the remote, but windows recognized it, and the mouse functions worked from the beginning without more software, ie I suppose that Windows installs a driver.

    I agree that this should be a seperate thread...

    I also have the same remote setup, and would be happy to run any debug software and report back. :)

    ok guys, try this one... it uses a different access method (from the custom hid plugin) ...

    The first screen that comes up will be configuration, just select the IR507 device in the list and then click ok.

    Then start pressing buttons on the remote...

    Then send back any output that is generated.

    Thanks,

    4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1

    I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC. TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.

    Ok, thanks much. I will look into the instructions above. For the moment, I turned off the "Automatic channel logo update" in Settings (which somehow I had missed, I think because it wasn't an option previously), and the deleted everything in the Flat-default folder and populated it with my own logos. Works, so far.
