I installed RC3 (I renamed RC2 folder first). Now I want to go back ot RC2 by renaming the folder back to mediaportal, but now all settings are gone. Where may I find them again?
Settings arent saved in the program files folder (as its not the correct place to store program data).
Under Vista those are "\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal", under XP on some similar folder... sorry forgot the system path used for program files.

You an find them by looking into "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Team MediaPortal\Mediaportal" for MediaPortal frontend and "%ALLUSERSPROFILE\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server" for TV-Server on both operating systems

Note: on Vista %ALLUSERSPROFILE% = C:\ProgramData, on XP = C:\Document and Settings\All users\App data
The basic backup (in my experience) works well for TV server but not for MP itself. Most of the settings in MP are lost, you need to manually copy everything from the backup to the new release and separately reinstall all plugins. I recently installed the plugin BackupSettings which appears to make this process much easier.
It worked to make a complete backup for me, but I haven't used it to import the backup in a new install yet.
if i want to replace RC 2 with RC3 wich files do i have to replace to keep my current settings?
it is very obvious i don't want to loose my settings, especially the movie settings (most of the time i get wrong coverarts and info from imdb).
do i have to replace the complete folder "team mediaportal" under application data?
or only the folder "mediaportal" within the folder "team mediaportal"?
