    Re: Scrolling

There sure will be some bumps left in moving pictures but before i address those i want to eliminate the root of the problem :)

Dr Tone: there's no mediainfo being queried on select, perhaps the mediainfo is pulling from the background but that's only one time action for each file on or after import.

Ok, I was just guessing, I'm glad someone is looking into it. It's very much appreciated!

On my Asrock ION 330 setup this makes an immediate and profound difference. Not completely perfect but it is a truly massive step in the right direction. Well done!

    Re: Scrolling

With the new core.dll it works perfect for me. Scrolling speed is now the same as in tvseries
and I didn't notice any bugs.

    Thanks a lot!

    Re: Scrolling

I would say my system spec is generally more powerful than the average HTPC and I was seeing some noticeable lag in Filmstrip and Icon facades.

This patch really makes an immediate and obvious impact. Scrolling in Filmstrip mode in a skin like Maya, for example, which makes heavy use of string comparisons is much better, but not fully resolved. In a quick test of Fidelity (which I don't believe uses string comparisons) scrolling is as quick as the button repeat delay.

Good work and thanks for looking in to this.

    Hi armandp,
the speedincrease is really nice and very much noticable!
Nevertheless I encountered a problem when launching YouTube Videos in the Onlinevideos plugin - no picture and lots of
    2010-03-08 14:19:57.309581 [Debug][(143)]: PlaneScene: PresentImage() dispose surfaces
    in the log.
Going back to old core.dll makes it work again.
    regards, Guzzi

the new core.dll makes my mediaportal hang at "initializing input devices"
    any thoughts?
